coolant problem!! help cobalt friends!
okay so when i drive and my heater is on im average 180-190 which is good. when im at idle and my heater is on only the past 2 days has it started but itll go as high as 229 from what ive seen.. what in the efff? a chevy service advisor told me to check my relays. no coolant leaks. and coolant is still a nice color. helpppp!

so when you drive and air is flowing through the radiator it's 190 and when you sit still and no air is going through the radiator it's 229.
flip on the defroster, does it go down?

Your thermostat might be bas as stated already... Or ur fans are not coming on. Best way to check is by turning ac on with defroster, on high, like stated also. If u see ur fans coming on and temps not dropping, it might be ur tstat

Um, if the fans did not come on automatically with the temperature, and did come on when he turned on the AC then the thermostat is doing it's job. It's staying open allowing the fans to cool the coolant as it passes through the radiator. The question is why are the fans no coming on by themselves.
