Quick Question Regarding Oil Change
How do you remove the black plastic engine cover? My gf's 09 GT needs its oil changed and I'm not sure how to remove it. It was -20 C this morning in the garage and I didn't want to pull too hard, etc and risk breaking the plastic.
Any help would be great,
thanks

no idea. I've never had a car with an engine cover...i always wondered why the hell they even bothered putting those damm things on cars... They are pointless imo.

yup just a simple pull up. grab the front under the lip and pull up and then do the same on the back left corner and remove the oil cap before you do this as that also holds it in.

If it's that cold, start and drive the car for a few minutes to let the engine warm up. The oil will drain much better and the extra heat should make things less brittle.
NVH. Or more specifically, the noise part of the noise, vibration, harshness equation. Most of the time they're not used for appearance reasons but instead primarily for the acoustical dampening properties they provide to reduce certain frequencies of top end valvetrain noise from reaching the cabin as much.
