standard transmission fluid?

went to local parts dealer and they tell me that it gives them a gm code and tells me that i might have to go there to get the fluid?
any help

like $15 for 2 quarts from gm. it takes 1.7 qts. and the drain plug is a bitch to get out. o and use a really long skinny funnel... i used a really long hose attached to a nipple lid from a gear oil bottle... took over 2 hours to fill it using it like an I.V.

and autozone told me it takes 6 quarts lol

I believe the LAP also has the F23 trans, same as the L61, and it definitely takes ATF. Not GL.

DEX 6 (VI) ATF though.. NOT GL. And they have DEX 6 readily available on the internet, and most shops around my area, not just the dealer.

i searched every store here and i could only get it at the gM dealer

but yes it is atf. i changed mine at 50k miles and it was brown and burnt.

damn skippy i am... it comes from the factory with atf... just like my t56 does as well. and GL? as in gear lube? 90 weight?

Yes, the F23 takes ATF.
