its in the LAP section so I'm going to assume 2.2.

And you can pick up some decent gains... maybe in the neighborhood of 5-10 whp and about the same torque.

But you'll notice a nice kick in the pants though!

Cams should work just fine, LAP and LE5 use same exact head.

Yeah LAP cams are unique to the LAP, LE5 bits are different. Would they make a difference? Most likely. Worth the $200 to buy them and install them? Only if youre good at cam swaps and big time into experimenting.(imo)

WAY different between SBC and ECO. In theory its easier because the cams are easier to access and to physically remove, but youve got 3 times as much chain to deal with and its much easier to mistime than an SBC and much harder to recheck your work. That being said with the proper skills and tools it only takes about hour to hour and a half to swap cams.

Okay , I don't own a cobalt i just come here because i like to read about different cars but generally when you add air flowing mods such as intake, headers etc. your car wont adapt enough to it and is already running lean. so with a turn you can richen it back up and get the hp that the mods should be giving you.

maven, on the $200 is that for new or used cams? im still debating on whether to do it or not... sounds like a fairly easy gain in hp maybe not very much but hp isnt cheap. and would be worth it if you can gain a SOP gain imo...

also maven can you get me the part numbers for the cams please?

not to beat a dead thread here, but does anyone know what type of gains we (lap) can get from the le5 cams? has anyone actually done this yet?

maven: so would you say the 2.4 cams are a direct fit and bolt on for the 2.2? if so the lnf exhaust cam will work in the 2.4 so shouldnt i see some pretty big gains by putting the le5 intake cam and the lnf exhaust cam in my lap? that is what i have been reading... and taking in out of context.
