Yeah the crosshatch was still good on 3 cylinders of the engine that blew up. I didn't realize that was the purpose behind crosshatching though.

I think you had a injector go bad or something in the cylinder that piston is crazy beat up

They were new injectors, 60's when I got the zzp kit. Speaking of that is there anyway to test injectors? Do you think mine are bad with all the metal shavings/chunks flying around in there?

you would have to have them bench tested somewhere , they might be fine it just looks like that cylinder ran extremly lean causing that detenation but who knows

I think I had a coolant leak that lead to this issue. On a better note I just picked up a motor and ordered rods,pistons,valve springs,head studs, and etc. to build it. Should be up and running hopefully within two weeks. Just sucks because I'm not sure if I can make it to the Ohio meet now.
