You will know when you bog...you'll start to go and the car will kinda hic up...and fall on its face...and no if you do what you say you will launch pretty nicely.

And Z, I wasn't referring to you man, right before lunch there was all kinds of stupid roaming amuck.

A tune with the 7k redline will help at the strip big time.

gotcha.. wuts up with it when it launches hard and then bogs? i had it goin and it seemed like it was gonna be good and i didnt even move my foot and i felt like a loss in power and then it picked up. man that sucked. couple that in with missing second, made for an extremely unpleasing night..

That means you are letting off the clutch too fast...or 'dumping' it.

Max amount of gas with out peeling out

and

smoothest AND fastest off the clutch action

=

fastest times.

I found that dumping the clutch can easily get you bad wheel hop on a sticky track (or if you have sticky tires). What I do is a slightly above idle roll out, then I hammer the gas.

About the 225/50/R17 tires........go with 225/45R17 instead as they will be the same overall height as your stock ones. You can easily fit a 225 on a 7" wide wheel......I've done it many, many times at my job.

About the shifter.......I personally don't think you're going to get much better with an aftermarket shifter the way you're describing your problems. You just have to learn how to get it in 2nd gear better. The stock shifter is actually pretty good compared to most cars.

yea my thing is i was good for the first half of the day. as the night went on and i got a bit more serious i notice i pull it down and to the left and it doesnt go in. IT's either that or im off the clutch before i finish putting it into second.

Work on pulling into second, pushing into third, pulling into fourth, etc.

Every tranny in every car is different, but wants to go in the next gear, just guide it, don't look for it.

Re: putting 225's on the 7" wheels. I'd recommend you go to Sears. I had several places attempt to **** up my 225's when I did the SS/SC wheel swap - to include a Chevy dealership ...

lol, dealerships don't know a damn thing about tires and wheels. You need to go to a real tire/wheel shop. 225's on a 7" wide wheel isn't even close to the toughest tire/wheel combo I've mounted up. I get dealerships coming to our shop all the time wanting us to mount up difficult ones.

^^ Amen to that. First they tried to convince me they wouldn't work, then they tried to 'fit them' for about 3 hours. Then called me to say they couldn't, and when I picked the wheels up they'd scraped one of them to hell.

I made the tech come out and apologize to me then he LIED about the damage. That's pretty much when I stopped giving a sh*t about the warranty or dealership in general.
