2.4 to the TC
Or you could buy MY Turbo 2.4
.
I haven't run against an ss/tc, so I can't say for sure on that. The TC does have an advantage with the no lift shift, though most turbo 2.4's are putting 250+ to the wheels.
It's actually an amazing little engine. The Mazda has 2.3l, direct injected and puts 260 to the crank AT ALMOST 16 PSI... the 2.4 puts up bigger numbers on half the boost.

yeah i thought about turboing my 2.4, but i was hesitant with all the turbo kits. I love working on cars and installing doesnt seem like it would be bothersome, actually enjoyable for me, but i just dont know about the longevity after that.. ha
i dont owe much, i consider it paid off so thats why i kinda want to sell it cause trading in is awful!
ive looked up articles with people turboing their 2.4 and it appeared to be mixed. I had to review my research cause time has passed since then.
i hate being torn between decisions like this hah

you definitely got me beat I got my car on December 26, 2007 with 10 miles on it. Now 1 year, a month, and some odd days later it only has a little over 9k miles on it with no major problems except the sunroof leaking (which the dealership fix for free).
My '07 has almost 58k.
There I win
(I got it brand new in Oct. '06)
Pfff, thats it???
I put 33k on mine the first year I owned it. Or my friend Chase probally has me beat. He's Bad05SS on here. He hasn't even owned his car a year....he bought it with 40k on it, and he's almost over 80k now.

I traded in my 2.4l for an SS/TC about a month and a half ago and I couldn't be happier with it, it drives like a different car compared to my GT. With a tune and intake you're looking at an easy 300WHP and 340WTQ
This is the same thing that happened to me in my SC... Drove into the dealership to see what all the fuss was about, expecting nothing special or extra compared to my SC, and then ended up buying the TC... lol They gave me such a great deal I couldn't turn it down... No regrets at all, I love this car. Drives completely different.
yeah I went from a 07 LTZ that i got in june '08 with 26k miles on it and just traded it in 2 weeks ago with 57k miles on it for the ss/tc. I love it thats all I can say.
So yeah 31k miles in 8 months..... I drive it for work all over LI, the city and NJ. SUcked but it made made me trade it in sooner than I thought for the ss/tc.

The TC has some advantage other advantages over a turbo 2.4 more than just whp potential... Warranty being a big one, nicer interior, much better suspension, Brembos.
If I had to do it over again, I probably would've just taken the money I spent on turbo charging the 2.4 and paid it towards my loan so I could trade it in or sell it sooner, as opposed to making it something different.
With that said, the 2.4 does become a fairly beastly car with forced induction. The compression ratio means ass tons of power with just a little bit of boost.
