interesting info but Hahn has the le5 comfortably at 300 whp so i dont think that info is correct.

That is what I was told by the GM Performance group. If I do end up doing my project I will be changing the pistons and rods as I am aiming for around 400rwhp. I will probably be testing the limits of the Aisin AR5 from the Solstice too. They said it was only verified to 260bhp.

I don't have an aftermarket exhaust so I hope to be pushing around 200whp. Maybe.

yeah i know you can get the same hp with lower boost and be safe then having higher boost and same hp.

I was talking about the pistons and rods being changed at 250bhp and the cylinder sleeves failing at 500bhp, not necessarily about the amount of boost.

So the rods go at around the same hp for both the 2.2 and the 2.4?

I don't know for sure, but GM racing changed them at 250.

hahn has proved that the rods can take over 250 HP ... well over.. they have a 2.4 turbo solstice running at 408WHP if i remember correctly from what I was told... on a totally stock car... so i'm sure it's fine. plus the 2.4 L hahn turbo kit puts out 240 WHP so thats already over that and they've guaranteed it to work well with the system...

sorry but thats false, psi means nothing. Thats why when you look at rods they are rated by hp not how much psi they can take. If your running na 300whp your gonna break stuff just as soon as a boosted 2.4 w/ same hp.

Yeah you can, but your motor wont last for long at all. If the stock (3.34") pulley is boosting at 7.5psi onour 2.4's you can bet that the 2.7" is going to be like 18lbs. Which would put you at like 300+whp (which would blow themotor in no time, with stock internals, studs, gasket, etc.) You will have to do some building to get to the small pulley on the 2.4. I'm putting on the copper headgasket and ARP headstuds for preventative measures.

yeah that sounds like a good start. like a copper head gasket. stronger pistons cams and you should be good to go.

Wouldn't think a 2.7 would be 18. If the stock pully is 7.5psi on a 2.4, it gives 12.5 on a 2.0. The 2.0 needs what a 2.6 to reach 20psi? Really won't know for sure until someone tries it out. Care to be the guinea pig?

well a 2.75 pulley on a 2.4 would be plenty enough boost with new cams would lower that boost down so you dont blow anything. and get more hp with it.

Yeah, I'm not sure. It was a wild guess. I don't want to find out....yet
