i'm thinking about doing cams eventually something about a 220 or so whp N/a build would be sex lol

if you look at redfocz numbers he has 186 whp on a mustang dyno so with cams an head work that'll be awesome..

however is it possible to get cams ground that'll work for na as well as sced?

Nothing drastic...just do a mild cam and it'll work...these heads flow like poo, a good port job on em really opens em up

exactly.. from what i hear the exhaust ports are tiny as hell stock and a nice port would do wonders.. i mean it might be a good 2K for cams and a p&P head sans install but it should result in about 25 or so whp i would think...

i'm a bit cam stupid and it doesn't help there are no options for us... what would be a "mild cam setup"?
/ how much approximately would you estimate a custom grind would cost?

Mild would be a slightly more amount of lift/duration

A machining place(where you could get your head done) would do it...150-300 bucks for the grind, and you'd have to buy blanks

hmm thanks for the info would the triflows be considered wild cams? and how much gain would a mild set approximately be? i know it's ricer math for 700 -1500 bux for cams and the port giving a 20 hp gain na and huge potential for boosted would be well worth it to me

typically you don't want to use NA cams on a boosted motor because they yield poor results due to their grinds specs.

if you want to go supercharged then get some cams that work well with a blower.

now if the cam is mild, as stated before with maybe stock lift and more duration or something similar you may be able to get away with it. i'd ask some LSJ guys with cams and see what they think...

Here's JBP's responce to what is need with there cams. Click Here

Also if you buy some blank cams, you can call Crane Cams in Daytona beach Fl they have about 3 or 4 differant cam grinds from Mild to Wild. And they dont charge too much I priced them out to be just under $600 shipped and everything.

If it were me I'd go turbo first and build the motor when it was needed or could be paid for .

Exhaust cams are swappable.

Would be best left for a turbo application.
