Chevrolet's provided performance parts

Are they really worth the cost? for us here in upstate NY its about 750$ for the exhaust, not sure what the power gains are on the 2.4 though. But with the header, exhaust and intake what is the estimated final output?

Its hard to say exactly, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 whp should be where those mods could take you. I can say from experience though that the GMPP exhausts make a very nice addition.

BTW, welcome to the site!

Welcome Newbie!

THe GMPP exhaust is worth about 15hp, Extruded Manifold about 10, and the GMPP intake about 10....individually. And that's a nice estimate. From all the parts put together, probably 20-25 HP.
And the exhaust is available at Crate Engine Depo for $375, exhaust tip is $60.
Your getting ripped by your dealer for $750 for just exhaust.

Or as he likes to measure WHP....I just can't get off of HP. Must be a case of Honda syndrome

yea im sure the install fees are huge, thanks though for the welcome. Also the dealer says 300hp is the limit with no internal mods, is that a safe estimate or totaly wrong? just want to know if i have room for some turbo later on.

you will have to forgive my inadequate car knowledge, as I am only 16, so I dont exactly know all the parts to a whole exhaust system. I know there are headers, downpipe, im guessing the mid pipe and muffler/exhaust tips. I am however taking a college level auto course at school, I should be able to make my own exhaust system there, hell that would cost about 100-200$ for the piping maybe less. Ok so If I want to get about 300hp out of a 2.4L am I looking at forced induction?(seems out of the question now, but i would like to know). And is there anything else we can do for more power besides headers, intake and exhaust(thats all the bolt on parts I can think of). Oh and one more question would a custom build dual exhaust hurt or help me? perhaps bad airflow with dual? could just use a Y pipe adapter though...

As long as the exhaust is made right, there is nothing wrong with dual exhaust. Good luck trying to get it to fit though Also, A dual exhaust would be a living nightmare if you ever DID decide to slap on a turbo or something.
As for the LE5 engines, They are claimed to be safe up to 300hp on stock internals, and some aftermarket companies say that 400hp on them is not unreasonable. The problem is the transmissions are only good until 250hp.
Yes, it's a pretty good bet you'll have to go F/I to get up to 300hp. Some 2.4l guys are getting right at 200hp all motor, with a full list of boltons, but the engines already built pretty solid, so there's only so much farther to go with just the motor. If you feel like dumping $5-10K on building you motor...who knows..maybe 230hp?
