The touring muffler has additional "stuff" in it to make it quieter. It should still flow about the same as the sport. The extra cost is for materials.

Actualy, you lose about 1-2hp between the two kits.

Quieter = More Restrictive = Less HP
Louder = Less Restrictive = More HP.

Not saying that louder is better, but if there is "Stuff" that deadens the sound, which is either a resonator, or just the muffler, it deadens the sound by going through "stuff" which could be compared to a filter.

Yes, It will be louder than your stock exhaust either way.

Personaly, I have a rebuilt exhaust with no muffler.

I have touring and it has the perfect tone for me...quiet and deep...not even close to rice

EDIT:

Not saying the performance one is, I am saying that it doesn't make the Cobalt sound...obnoxiously loud like someone ripped off the exhaust from the cat back or are running a 3 foot exhaust on their cars.

People are too touchy damn

I don't get where people think the GMPP Sport is loud. Listen to the Corsa... that's loud. Most of the cars out there running huge 6" fartcannons are insanely loud... much much louder than the GMPP Sport. The only time mine ever really yells is when you get past 5000 RPMs... then you can still hear the blower whine over the exhaust. It reminds me of a tame SRT-4 maybe bordering on WRX-ish.

Actually... I had a 2.4 that I traded for the SS/SC. I was the first person on here to figure out that a 2.2 intake would fit a 2.4. Check out my gallery if you don't believe me.
