Forged Pistons

im sure there is probly a thread on this but i havt been able to find it. Im looking for a good place to order forged pistons from so i can slap a turbo on my car without recking anything. I want to beef the engine up first as an extra precaution. Iv got a 2.4L LE5 engine for a 07 Pontiac G5 GT 5 speed manual.

they don't make forged pistons for the 2.4's; but u can custom order them from wiseco, JE, Diamond; some1 on the site e-mailed companies about forged pistons and they'll run you about $500-$600

the engine can take about 400hp. boost should be safe with right tuning if you arnt approaching those power levels. be more worried about the trans.

i guess the engine forman at napa that i work with said that this place called HaunMotorcraft makes them but he has to get a price for me. So Far without the header on but with the nitrouse i have about 230HP using a 35 shot. But they advised no turbo until the internals are done first as an extra precaution. How much can the transmission handle? is there anything you can do to beef it up?

you could also try cyro treating the stock pistons and rods. it'll give you some more head room thats for sure and for alot cheaper

it's rated at about 170 trq for the manual tranny.. HOWEVER.. there are alot of people on here and alot of cavi's / sunfires( they use the same tranny) pushing well over that with no issues..

you can cryo treat it .. but so far there's nothing for us.. some company is looking into it i think though
