Jet Chip Performance Module 1-month Update
Jet Chip Performance Module 1-month Update
I've had the Jet Chip stage 1 module in now for 1 month. Still no issues, CELs, or problems of any kind. I did take it out one time to get an idea if it really was making more power and could tell the loss of low-end power right away so I put it back in. My gas mileage is a little lower, averaging 24.6 MPG in town whereas without it I was averaging 26.9 -- I attribute this mostly to my quick part throttle take-offs but I think the module itself lowers the MPG becuase it does run richer (I can still smell the difference in the garage when I start it in there).
Anyway, IMO this module is worth the $ if you can't find a "tuner" in your area -- or like the idea of removing a "tune" at any time.

My plan for the future is to make some runs on an 1/8th mile track (no 1/4 miles anywhere near) and compare with other 2.4L runs.
I did some dyno runs with an auto 2.2 and it wasn't fun. Plus I learned that the dyno operator can "adjust" the readings so I personaly don't trust dynos for proving anything -- the dragstrip doesn't lie.

Don't get me wrong here....in the garage without the module when idling it has a sweet smell but with the module in you can just detect fuel. It doesn't make your eyes water, per say, but you can smell the difference.
Just because it runs rich at idle, doesn't necessarily mean that it's running rich while you're driving. The load on the injectors (even when stock) at idle is actually quite high on these cars in my opinion.
