M62 Build

Well after lurking around CSS for the past three years and "gathering information" it is official that I am doing a M62 build on my 08 2.4. I will try my best to post pictures of my progress, no promises though. Currently I am cleaning everything up and painting it, also I had my endplate drilled and tapped for dual pass "Poor man's version"
Here is some of my stuff at the moment:

Hopefully I can start installing parts on the engine next week sometime.

Thats just a test fitting, to make sure the threads were right. I will be putting a 90 degree fitting in there.

BTW I know in Beck's build he stated that the lower intake manifold mount bracket needs to be bored out to 8MM, on mine I had to bore it over to 10MM, and the two bolts that thread into the engine block are M10x55x1.50.

Well its all together and running, been babying it alot for now to break the blower in a bit, and to get some logs for daily driving. Ill see if I can get some vids of power runs in the next couple days. Also its pretty neat to hear the slightly altered exhaust note

Haha thanks I did it on my own at school, I think I'm going to design up a cool fuel rail cover on UGnX and water jet it out in aluminum and then powder coat that.

Where would it be mounted? Only mount points are at where the valve cover is secured and where the fuel rail is secured.

I suppose I willhave to decide when I actually start designing the part, I could either make a bracket that runs accross from where the fuel rail bolts on and just have two holes tapped on said bracket and design my cover to mount to that, or I could just have it mount to the fuel rail bolts too, because my thoughts are if Im taking the cover off Im probably going to be working with the injectors/fuel rail, or blower anyways.

Looks good.

I will be starting my 2.4 M-62 build soon, auto trans tho. I got the last $300.00 in parts sitting in my ZZP cart just waiting to get that cash up to buy them.

Yours in a manual trans and a Cobalt? What tuning did you do?

I'm doing my HHR 2LT Panel, I was thinking on starting a Thread and posting a bunch of pics of the parts I have been slowly buying over the last 14 months.

Anyways Nice looking and sounding install, just wanted to post and follow along.

Thanks

All I really had was a vibrant cat back that carried over from NA to SC, I do enjoy the cars tone a lot and I took it for an extended drive yesterday and averaged 39mpg (calculated). I have a CAI on my SC'd build now too. Yes it is an auto, and just a couple tips: 1) before you bolt the blower down , set it on the manifold and mark out where the pulley is with a sharpie and cut that metal out with a cut off tool, that way you can put a belt on with out removing your blower and if you don't when u brake hard it will rub and make a terrible noise. 2) USE a relay when installing the intercooler pump, otherwise you risk throwing a P1681 cel. If you need any help along the way you can just ask me or pm me for my phone number.
