oil leak

Has anyone else have an oil leak issue around the oil filter cap and oil cooler setup on the 2006 2.4? Mine is leaking, not bad, but is slowly getting worse. The oil cap is tight and still has a good gasket in it. I have no clue? any ideas? ever have this happen?

I don't think 2.4L have an oil cooler. But if you filter cap is leaking then you probably need a replacement.

figured, it still has a decent seal but who knows at 40 or so psi right. oil is fine. I check it all the time.

oil cooler is right beside the oil filterto the right. the chunk of aluminum with the coolant lines

Is yours an auto? If so then that's the pump.... The 2.4's don't have an oil cooler trust me....take a pic and I bet it's the pump for the hydraulics for the auto tranny. Has like 5 lines I think about 1/8" black.

Oil coolers were eliminated midway through the 2006 model year. I've seen them both ways and checked the build dates; its always the later ones that don't have the cooler.

And I damn sure stand corrected, just don't see the point of an oil cooler in such a small engine.
