Performance Questions

I'm trying to add as many performance parts as I can to my 2.4L SS. I can't really find much. I want a supercharger for sure, but I also want as many performance parts as possible. What all is there performance-wise for the 2.4L?

I was just digging into this myself; I have a 2006, and I notice many of these items are no longer available. Is it time to ditch the cobalt and upgrade to something "better supported" in the aftermarket?

It all depends on your goals.

Full bolt ons and tune will get you to 200whp. If you want more you can supercharge or turbo charge.

Suspension wise there are a ton of options because all cobalts are basically interchangable. So you can get plenty of power and handling in a car that's usually lighter than most newer cars.

you can typically find an sc kit on the classifieds for $1k or less. doesnt get much better than that for supercharging any platform.

keep in mind that used parts are your friend. these eaton blowers last forever with little to no maintenance

I was just checking some of the links in the thread that are now dead. 200hp would probably be enough; not sure I have the skill to install a supercharger.

full bolt ons and tune is not 200whp. 170-180 is more in the range. You can do a sc for cheap with minimal supporting mods, stock exhaust, stock tb, and stock big sc pulley and have 230whp easy with way more tq at lower rpm.

Weird I thought I remember several people getting very close with a good HPTune.

But I see from the dyno thread the max is 186whp 177wtq

180whp for NA 2.2L, that's a sad group of guys on the 2.4L that they can't do better.

But having went fully bolted 2.2L it's best to just go with a super or turbo
