psi doesn't have anything to do with how much a motor can take

that t3/t4 turbo you have is gonna flow alot more air than a T28 at the same psi. as far as how much power you can make on a 2.4, I would say as long as you're under 300whp you are fine from what I've seen so far.

exacly ionninja..but to give u a estamte cuz i know what ur thinking..id say 9-10 is good..we have very high compression and unless you plan to change ur pistions out..9-10 is safe..i know people on here run higher..but for me..9-10 would be enough psi..

ALSO depeneds what kinda turbo your running...lot of factors go into it

True, and if you were only to ask one question about how much you engine can handle. It should more be like how much CFM can my engine handle. Pre-det and misfiring from running lean is more of a worry than the gaskets on your manifold.

Thats true, but until you change the volumetric efficiency of the engine, pressure is a good indicator of volume of air. 10 psi from a turbo is the same amount of air as 10 psi from a supercharger using the same intake manifold, cams, and valves.

From personal experience, a certain turboed 2.4L ran quite well on 12psi boost. That car put a grin on my face for the longest time.

well i know that im just putting it that way so everyone else knows what im talking about...i know it all has to do with the fcm rates on the blower and what not...i dont think that 10 psi will be maxing the blower out or anything serious....should be pretty efficient...and im planning for about 300hp

i think hahn has reached over 400whp on stock engine if that means anything, its all in tuning and supporting parts. Suppossedly the LE5 is a stronger engine than the srt-4's in stock form.

I think you're fine with 8-10psi as a starting point for this motor and a manual trans. The only reason I ran 8psi max (after testing a few boost levels, low AND very high) was because of the auto trans. Hahn ran up to over 14psi IIRC. Although, they (and everyone else) don't recommend running that for long without building the motor.

I will say that more than 10psi starts to get nuts with this car. I assume you have 42# fuel injectors?

i dont yet but i will in time...im still buying parts and stuff so it will be a while...probably summer...before anything gets installed and tuned...but yea i dont think 10 psi should hurt anything...im just aiming for about 300hp safe

how's that without knowing the turbocharger or supercharger in question?
