Sweet! IMO. That manifold will make a hp difference. It also won't make the engine compartment as hot as a true header would.

Yeah... I'm hoping heat won't be a big deal... infact I took the stock heatshield off of the new manifold... I figure it gets plenty of airflow under there... you can see straight through to the ground...

I'm certainly not expecting any problems as it is a GM part that's just been worked on a little bit... not much that could go wrong there. But I'll definately post up if I run into anything.

If you're worried so much about engine heat just invest in that CF ram air hood that's out for our car. It's cheaper than alot of the other hoods and also has the scoop. I'm not talking about the RK sport one but this one http://www.racingsolution.com/showpa...on=DisplayPart

That should take care of all your heat worries you wusses! Plus it's not too expensive and will save a bunch of weight.

Absolutely is the ****! That's what I'm looking into in about a year. HP gaining mods have priority in my book but I've been excited about that hood since I first saw it! Plus I've got some sick paint ideas for it.

Anyways... the "seat of the pants-ometer" Can't tell much of a difference yet... but my ears tell me that it's working nicely. The stock exhaust idles a bit louder, sounds more smooth at WOT... and gives a nice gargling sound on the decel. I'm gonna give the car a week or so to get used to the new part... then head back down to Mooresville dragway and see if I can hit 9.8 or better. I'll post my slips when I get them.

Where did you get the manifold for $160.......? Got link or a vendor?

I don't know about anybody else but I'm not planning on getting into any wrecks anytime soon, but if that's your idea of a good time have fun with that.

no one PLANS on it, but the car is designed to perform a certain way in a crash (i don't care how fast it is, i want my car to do it's best when the worst happens). aftermarket panels and bumper are very often not designed to interact the same way. this may be minimal when we're talking about something like a plastic bumper cover or front lip, but things like the hood and decklid are obviously vital.

i think that you're best just leaving it alone unless it's a legit race/show car
