Supercharger swap Qs

I know I know, sorry for the newbness, I've been searching build threads but still have some questions to confirm. I've been referencing back to this old thread https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...through-80620/ and looking at newer threads with updates.

This is going on a Saturn Aura 2.4 LE5, so I'll take care of the front mount and IC plumbing. Tuning, injectors, MAP, vac lines, intake with filter, throttle body I'll take care of.

Main concern is putting the supercharger on the engine itself.

Q1 - Rather than do anything custom, I read I can just use the LSJ tensioner and pulley, and cut one rib off the LSJ belt. Does the tensioner bolt up, no drilling and tapping required?

Q2 - The alternator will run in reverse but it still puts out a charge just fine?

Q3 - LSJ oil dip stick required?

Q4 - Is there a bracket that goes underneath the LSJ intake manifold/intercooler or does it just bolt to the engine?

1) yes. it bolts up but you might have to grind a little bit where your old engine hoist point bolted into. No biggie.

3) No. you can use stock one and bend to your wishes.

4) There is a bracket and it is part of or attaches to the HE pump bracket

I'm running a 3.1 with a stage 2 belt. Do you have a stock pulley with the stock belt?

beck, me, hunterkillr, bunch of others...rock the lsj idler and tensioner with 1 rib cut
you must use the stage 2 belt
you need to grind a bit of the head to make tensioner fit, but no biggie at all

Q2 - The alternator will run in reverse but it still puts out a charge just fine?
My le5 alternator has been fine, been boosted for over 40K miles, and I daily it
Q3 - LSJ oil dip stick required?
no, but if you can get one cheap enough, it just looks nicer...i still havent gotten around to putting a lsj one in mine
Q4 - Is there a bracket that goes underneath the LSJ intake manifold/intercooler or does it just bolt to the engine?
there is a bracket, 2 bolts that bolt to block then 1 bolt that goes to intake manifold(behind alternator-ish. is also part of the heat exchanger bracket
look at becks build, and hunterkillrs build
