Throttle Response

Are there any methods of gaining better throttle response? I am used to adjusting the throttle to about 1/4" of play but with this electronic throttle I am not sure what else I can do.

First off you need to add some more breather mods such as header, downpipe and catback exhaust. Once you get those mods then finish off with a tune. Also is your car auto or manual?

Tune the car for that intake. You'll get better throttle response from it. Also if the car has a lot of mileage on it then consider cleaning the throttle body.

I am strapped for cash but have been looking into the XTC downpipe without cat. My car is manual.

What sort of tune do you guys recommend? Cleaning the throttle body would be good, I am at 95k.

I strongly suggest cleaning it. Mine looked terrible at 75k. I'd look for a knowledgable tuner that uses either Trifecta or HPTuners. Like the above stated its more worth your while if you invest in full exhaust before you tune the car

You can get most of those mods farely cheap if you know what your doing without going used. First off ZZP makes a good header/combo and there not too expensive. And for the exhaust you got many options, but the cheapest way would be custom because you can get ottp's over the axel kit for 95 bucks and then buy a Dynomax muffler for like under 50 bucks and then you have a custom 2.5 inch exhaust.

That is exactly what I needed. Thanks a million. I had just started searching mufflers

Actually, now that I look at it, buying the parts and paying for install would run about what the pacesetter cat-back exhaust would run and I could install that myself. Why is this exhaust system so cheap compared to the others and is anyone running it?

The pacesetter is ok but kinda raspy. Heres a couple other options for you man including the dynomax super turbo muffler if you wanna go custom.

Yeah no problem man yeah the tsudo is a good exhaust, i had that for a bit until I decided I wanted to go 2.5 inch exhaust. If you do decide to get that exhaust make sure you get longer rubber exhaust hangers for the muffler because it'll rub against your bumper and burn it trust me lol.

So I am not too savvy with exhaust work. I can bolt up a cat back, but when it comes to welding a muffler in...I was thinking of paying a shop to weld something like the Dynomax muffler to my stock exhaust. Is the exhaust tubing 2-1/4" past the axle? If so, are the 2-1/2" inlet and outlet on the muffler a problem?

Nah, a half decent exhaust shop should be able to flare out the pipe and make an adapter. In fact, I'm putting a 3" inlet muffler on my stock 2.5" piping this week. The exhaust shop said it would be no problem, and mine's a half inch difference, so a .25 inch should be no biggie.

Yup no problem to weld the muffler on the stock piping. But the muffler will flow better with the 2.5 inch over the axel kit. Plus like I said its only 95 bucks and the muffler is 46 bucks so under 150 for the parts and i'm sure you can shop around and get everything welded up for like 70 bucks max. Thats pretty darn cheap for a 2.5 inch custom catback.
