How much farther do you guys think he can take it without blowing up? I know if he converts to E85, he can get a nice gain and probably jump over 300whp easily on that mustang dyno he dynoed on.

woopdeedoo.. i couldve been on a magazine cover/ had a full spread about me and my car if i just got off my ass and got some professional pictures

 

yep i had 7 psi now im at 11. i have to get to a dyno to see how much power i am actually putting down. clutch is doing fine right now doesnt seem to slip. and to ebristol that you quoted my car has been done for over 3 weeks now and runs just fine. 1st and 2nd gear are almost pointless with absolutely no traction in first and 2nd unless im at a higher speed no traction with eagle gts. granted my turbo is small put i can swear im putting out over 225 hp. mustang v6 ~200hp my car with 4 people completely dominated his car. thats ricer math i know, but its a good comparison. as well as all i have to do is add more boost and an updated tune and i gain more power... there is plenty more to offer from my "little ko4"

As per the GM build book, the LE5 and LNF share rod material. As to if they are forged or not, I do not know.

 

idk if u saw glenns thread but when he popped his motor recently he said he was told 08s and some 07s have the powder rods and not the forged ones... ross has an 08 so.....

A GM tech and the official statement was some LE5's came with forged rod and some did not. Of course there wasn't any recording of which ones came with which rods.

 

he said it was from gm directly. look in his thread. lol. doesnt bother me cuz i have an 06 but for others it could be an issue. doesnt explain how the kappas have been ok around those numbers tho.

The OP could probably pass as a GM tech if he pulled his pants up. I don't see why so many people listen to whatever they are told at the dealer just because they have a nice GM sticker on their shirt.

 

couple things pointed out here, one being that you cant stamp a number in the forged rod

 

Don't run your mouth accusing people they don't know what they are talking about, when you obviously don't know what you're talking about. A GM tech stated that some have forged rods, and some don't. The reason this information was found out, was because glen blew a piston out the side of his block under what? 12 pounds of boost? That's really nothing, and with forged rods, his car would still be running. He did the research and came across this new information, which is a big heads up for the rest of us 2.4 guys.
