how much oil are you burning? just wondered what they considered "normal rate" for a car as new as yours. these cars should not burn any noticeable amount of oil between oil changes of any recommended interval.

I think we all have a rattle here or there in our cars. And as for burning oil I haven't noticed any burnt when I change it, comes pretty damn close to the line where the new oil was.

The only way that a header would be causing the problem is if it somehow eliminated so much back pressure that it rattled loose the exhaust valves and you were burning oil past the exhaust valve seals, but that's damn near impossible for a decently built motor without open headers.

Sad to say but YUP!!!

And I think I only burn at the most is even noticeable a 10th of a quart, if that. Like I said when I do change the oil I mark the spot on the Mobil jug new and full then when I'm done I see what's the difference, I also hold the drain pan over the jug to make sure I get it all out. Also I put the pan in the sun after to see any metallic oil. So far so good.

Yes the acceptable MAXIMUM oil consumption for a GM gasoline engine is 1quart/2000 miles.

Not bad, and when I do my moms Crapstang she's always a quart low. And they say GM sux...they might suck but not as bad as Ford.

any truth behind this??
Well, you do have quite the list of mods B/2.4:
  • Redline body kit
  • Canuck Motorsports Lowerings Springs
  • 18" White Racing Hart C5s
  • 5 window tint
  • XC CF hood
  • Injen CAI
  • 4157KRs
  • Progress RSB
  • Prothane Tranny mounts
  • ZZP header/dp combo
  • Megan Catback
  • 6000k HIDs
  • Blue LED underbody lights
  • SMS BB TB
  • Pclear STS
  • Ingalls TD
  • Clarion In-dash DVD
  • Nyrm Dual Apillar pod
  • AEM wideband
  • Aeroforce Interceptor

For sure, not all of those are engine mods. But you might be attracting too much of the dealer's attention with all them mods!

I say just keep trying other dealers ... you've got nothing to lose.

i cant think of any reason a heaqder would void a warranty. Did u throw a code? If not tell them if they void ur warranty that u will take them to court u want them to prove how a header could have possibly voided ur warranty

plain and simple, upgrading exhaust isnt going to cause an oil buring condition.

I think the more important issue here now that youve got the dealer thing straightened out, is why didnt you check your oil for 8000km?
