not yet it wouldn't. let me help u a little bit. from what i gathered so far from this thread is, 1. u want bolt ons past I/H/E 2. u wanna b faster than an SS/SC 3. u don't want ur car out of commission. Did i miss anything? So from what i can gather, u want mid 200's wph. So roughly 220-250 whp. Well, ur gonna have to do some stuff. U have many options. 1. F/I (forced induction) this is ur supercharger or ur turbo set-up. for a turbo, u need to have a 5sp in order for the turbo kits to work. if u have an auto...well, custom SC kit, or u can go with a custom turbo kit. it gets pricey. Nobody said going fast is cheap. if it was, fiats would be going on 1000 hp. U gotta pay to play dude. Find a member on here called YellowShowbalt. He's a great guy. He did a 2.2 super charged cobalt a little while back. He's very knowledgeable and will help u. Also, talk to Halfcent, he's another good guy who knows his **** and he has a 2.4 ss. turbo kits go for 3100-4000 i think. however finding the ss/sc parts in a junk yard isn't too easy. so u might have to buy things new, which = $$. 2. U can go with a built motor. a site does offer a kit, which includes pistons, gaskets, timing chain, and other stuff for like 1600. U can get other stuff with it but for more money. The crank (not really needed bc our crank handles over 600hp) is 700ish, the rods are like 300ish, arp headstuds are 125ish, aem fuel management is like 400-500ish. If u get every available option its something like 2700-3000. then u'd have to bore out ur block for the pistons. also, if u get cams with cam gears, ur looking at like 600-700 bucks. cams are shown to produce 30+hp after tuning. basically after rebuilding ur motor, bottom n top ends, u cud be looking at some nice numbers too, and be ready for some intense boost (18psi+). 3. Nitrous. Not a fan. Anyone can use nitrous at the push of a button. Not everyone can build their power. Idk, I don't hate on anyone that uses it, it's more of a pride thing to me. If i get to 260 whp, and i'm stuck for that extra 40 hp for the 300's, then i'll use the 100 shot. So do some research on nitrous. u will get mixed people with it. some live by it, some don't. If u decide to go with it, make sure u don't go over a 75hp shot and make sure it's a wet kit. u'll thank me.

Now ur question was for injectors. If u only have so much performance u don't need injectors. When u go with engine upgrades, turbo, super charger, etc...thats when u need more fuel. u don't need more fuel atm. u will possibly lose performance and drown ur engine. not good. when u get into some hardcore performance, changing ur spark plugs and injectors is a must. but thats a little bit more advanced. just learn some basics. people r here to help other people. we r a community. some guys r ********. but most guys r willing to help in any way they can. so keep asking questions and read up on stuff. thats how i learned what i know so far. (i don't even know alot...lol) I've been a member for this site for almost 1 yr, and i've been using it frequently for about 2-3 months now. so basically i learned in 3 months. just be courteous and ask questions and guys will help u. if u have any questions, lemme know. i'm always here to help out people!

Wow thanks cobalt_driver! Thanks for taking the time to write all that up AND thanks for taking into consideration that I don't kno a lot and actually being nice about it!
Oh and just a little history, in case anyone is wondering, one big reason i'm focused on reaching SS/SC status is because 90% of the people i've talked to didn't know the SS/NA existed. They all assume my car is supercharged just because it says SS. And of course I explain to those I talk to, but I dislike the idea of discrediting the rep of the SC cuz I'm a major fan. SO i figure if I lose to someone I don't talk to well...yeah. But i think my only plans for this year are just to do H/DP/Cat/Muffler/Intake/ Tune. Then just some appearance & traction mods and maybe when I'm out of college I'll shoot for turbo. Thanks for all the help tho!

WOW so for several grand worth of mods I/H/DP/CB/CAMS/TUNE/DR you can be as fast as a SS/SC car!

For less money then that you can do a supercharger swap and be faster. All that and only hitting a 14.1? Too much money, time and trouble for not enough gain IMO.

With the blower swap I'm looking at doing I'll be putting down 250-260hp at the wheels. That and a set of drag radials puts me in the 13's. Spray it and God help my axles.

I dunno i think its the fact that a n/a chevy 4-banger runnin low 14's with possiblities of running 13's w/o boost or spray is what is worth it to those who choose to go that route. hell if i was gonna put a supercharger on i woulda bought a ss/sc from the beggining and saved alot of money and headaches.

Ahhhhh, but GM didn't build a supercharged sedan for sale. The supercharger is a straight swap and can be done in a weekend and the tuning is nailed down by several well known shops so theirs really no headache involved.

And speaking of headaches have youever looked at what you need to do for a cam swap? Now THATS a headache! And the cost of the cams is pretty high for the relitively small gains you will see.

ryan, halfcent has a 2.2. Its an auto and he is still NA with a built engine if im not mistaken. Its Celicacobalt that is the 2.4 turbo. You CAN Turbo the 2.4 auto, thats who hahns turbo kit is marketed for, the auto guys(but works for MT's as well). Also why use the AEM Fuel management when you can just purchase HPTuners? Also the 2.4 is good for about 400whp, already proven by Hahn.

I understand the no sc sedan. But there's no other work needed for the cams for the 2.4. Mike had vavles and a p&p head but only due to a faulty install that messed up his head, the guy from az who has the cams has no other head nor motor work done past bolt-ons. If there's some thing (i'm assuming you talking about valve springs) no one who has used the cams (that i know of) for the 2.4 has HAD to do anything to make them work expect mike (which he was getting the head re-worked so he upgraded). Honestly its all up to personal preference. The s/c swap is a great upgrade with available parts form junkyards it can be done cheaply. However i'm concered for the long run of the 2.4 cause of the heat from the s/c mixed with 10.4 compression. Personally i would feel more comfortable with a na set-up as i feel its more reliable. We all want to go fast (at least faster) and however you get there is fine by me. I feel 20-25 whp is awsome for $750 cams considering people spend that much on an exhaust that adds 5-10whp.

That $750 for the cams is just the begining. Theres all the gaskets and the fact that so far noone has done a cam swap themselves at home rather they take it to a shop to get done. The cam swap is just a pain in the ass cause of all the stuff you have to do for these ecotecs. They're nothing like swaping a cam on a 350 small block! That I can do in an afternnon in my garage in my backyard! I've looked into doing a cam swap when I had my Cavi and there's NO WAY in hell I'd even attempt it! And if you spend $750 on an exhaust you need your head examined! Are you talking full or just cat back? Cause for a full exhaust you will see gains in the high teens to 20 hp, same as the cam swap.

Cam swaps are great mods to be sure, but doing them on this ecotec looks like the biggest pain in the ass ever.

As for the blower swap so far those who have done it have logged some serious miles with no issues. Same goes for the turbo install. If you don't like forced induction thats cool tho, can't argue with someones opinion.

Corsa's are in that range which alot of member have bought, but true i would never pay that, i went the custom route and spent $180. But working on a 4 cylinder twin cam is definatly different then working on a chevy sb, not nearly as simple but that doesn't mean its difficult. Keeping the timing is the main concern and biggest problem. And i wouldn't call 10,000 miles serious. I see these ss/sc's having problems and it makes me worried abit that if a built FI motor from the factory is having some issues i wouldn't be comfortable in using it on a 2.4, not saying it won't be reliable but i'm not wanting to take that chance. And not like forced induction ? thats blasphamy. I love boost like the next guy, but like i said a 200+whp na 2.4 is pretty cool in my book, just as cool as a turbo 2.4. Different strokes for different folks. Just have fun while your doing it.

Your kinda right, but IMO first of all if i went F/I it'd be turbo. period. S/C is less efficient and less mod-able and puts more strain on your engine. So, if i'm going turbo, the hahn kit is roughly 3600-3900. Thats a lot. Not to mention that ingalls TD, a better clutch, and a short shifter(Am i the only one that thinks our second gear is a MILE to the back??) are almost necessary for the turbo. So, 150+400+150+3600=4300. and thats BEST CASE SENARIO IF you do it yourself or have friends that'll help. Not to mention that a turbo is run off exhaust, so you'd almost guaranteed need to upgrade your exhaust. So in the end your spending pretty much 5Gs. Now figure I/H/DP/HiflowCat/CCB/CAMS/TUNE/TD/ShortShifter/Clutch=200+700+50+200+750+500+150+150+400=3100.
So now, your car is running low 14s for less and not to mention, if you threw a turbo on top of that, you'd be MUCH faster. Figure Hahn's test car was auto and the only mod was a cat-back and ran 13.7. With this mods PLUS TURBO and a MT its possible to hit high 12's am I wrong? Of course in the end you spend a WHOLE LOT. But still. I'd rather build my stuff to PREPARE for boost before just throwing in boost and nothing else.

Couldn't agree more. Not only are you keeping a high compression motor N/A, but effectively achieving 14.1 all motor is not even comparable to the price you'd shell out for the Hahn kit, and a custom set up is going to cost relatively the same amount in the long run. Forged rods or not, this car is not designed for boost and didn't come from the manufacturer intended to do so.
