Whats the difference
Ok now, im newb and i know it so be easy on me please
now down to nitty gritty, what is the difference between jet pcm stage 1 or even 2 and the new JET V-Force Plus Performance power control unit?

JET 68021 - JET Power Control Unit Plus & V-Force Plus
http://www.jegs.com/i/JET/561/68021/...61694%7C10373#

thanks ********, try answering his question too...
The stage 1-2 PCM is meant to plug into your cars computer and make adjustments on the fly. The JET Power Control Unit appears to be an OBDII Gauge while also making minor ignition and fuel adjustments.
Really IMO, it looks like they do the same thing, except the JET Power Control Unit has the added advantage of displaying some parameters read through the OBDII Port for you to monitor.
--
Now that that is over, you will be much more pleased with a tune from a knowledgeable HPTuners user. The gains will be much better because the adjusted parameters will be specific to your car and not a "canned" tune that you get with the Jet Chip Modules.

I have neither, but from reading around, the advantage to Jet is if it screws with your car you can always go back to stock tune instantly
With Hpt unless you have a good tuner, they can really screw your car up as you can't just unplug the thing and return to stock
I tried doing some research on the difference between the stage 2 pcm and the power control unit
I *think* the stage 2 has better gains, but the PCU gives you all of that nice info on your car, maybe you can run both?

It's hard to answer these type questions because: 1. No one wants to spend >$800 to try all three to get an idea of which one is better and: 2. Jet Chip doesn't provide any information other then their ads.
I'm not ready to spend >$800 on HPTuners to do it myself, nor is there anyone near me I would trust to tune my car with HPTuners either.
I have the Stage 1 module and I like the increased low end performance and part-throttle response. I'm not going to waste money on a dyno because you can't control the auto (keep it in third gear) to get a nice pull. I tried dynoing an 06 LS auto ($176) and the graph they could print wasn't clear enough to use to prove a bolt-on was better or worse. The tranny downshifts and upshifts regardless of selector position so you get the downshift spikes and upshift drops making it hard to prove a 2-10 HP gain throughout most of the RPM range. I would prefer to run my auto Jet Chip equipped 2.4L against a unmodded auto 2.4L and a HPTuned auto 2.4L to really get an idea of which is better but that isn't likely to happen.

Well....$500 for the basic HPTuners, don't forget a laptop and connections and shipping. Knowledgeable tuner....they're out there somewhere.

Yeah it probly wouldnt hurt any the stage one is for guys who are stock. So you should be fine, you probly wont get 100% of the power gain claimed but when you slap a new exh sys on you'll be sitting pretty.

I have all the bolt-ons and still am using the stage 1 -- I like it. I just made the decision to go one level at-a-time. If the stage 2 turns out to work for others I may try it too.
