GM performance Division Back / Cruze SS?

I dont know how I missed this, sorry if this is a repost.

GM To Build Performance Versions of Small Cars

But considering the technology is already out there, and they want efficient small vehicles, throw an lnf in a cruze I know we all wet dream about awd and what not not, but think about what a say 280ish 320ish (basically the gms1 stock) lnf with a 6spd in a the cruze would be, even if it was fwd. Especially in that hatch....

I dunno Im not gettin rid of the balt anytime soon really, but am Just really excited that this is a possibility, and for more neat cars from gm.

i mean they have all the parts...........................................

they dont have to redesign an engine or anything, dont even have to use the 6spd really, i dont think people realize how much better our SS's would be if there drivetrain was wrapped in a cruze body.... seriously...

From what I remember the LNF won't meet emission regulations in a year or two.

From what the 1.4L looks like it may not be such a slouch after all. I'm very excited to see what trifecta gets from it. If they can push 200HP out of it think about the price 17K for a 200HP car that has more potential in the future. Not a bad deal.

I thought emissions was why they dropped the supercharger in the lsj and brought in the turbo LNF?

F'in tree huggers. The was to economy and efficiency is to make cars that can actually get out of there own way. I mean if you have to keep it floored to make it up a hill. How economic is that? If they wouldn't make such cheap quality fuel emissions wouldn't be that bad.

I believe it was purely production cost, as they had in the sky, solstice and HHR, the LSJ was only in the cobalt. They had turbo brethren of it in the saab, but we see how much they cared about saab.
