Moral of the story, never buy new unless your certain without shadow of a doubt that you love said vehicle and will keep it till it just can't go no more.... Or be ok with getting butt raped on trade in

you guys are freaking crazy.

The fox body came with a 4 banger. This isn't a new concept. And they want what, 305hp 300lbs torq or more. Umm.... and that is slow? People hyped the hyundia genesis so much and that pos was a flop. At least this has some history and racing background to back it up. The current v6 isn't even a slouch. You guys drive ******* cobalts and talk down about so many cars, its irritating as f. Grow the f up.

GM is rebuilding their line up and public view etc. They are into the high end sport cars as seen by the big caddy and vette, ss etc. cars. The sub compact lol. Look at all their concept cruze and sonic's that everyone seemed to like, and they went no where. I think GM is stupid for not doing it, but did they let go the engineers from the CSS team? I know John Heinricy pushed more of that, and he is gone.

GM released their buick that had the new 2.0 tubro brembo's etc. And what, one forum member bought one? lol. I won't buy a new compact sports car unless it beats my CSS. And nothing out does that at the moment, well unless ford releases a focus RS...then F this css.

bought both my MS3 and CSS new and was worth more a few months still after purchase if I sold it than what I owed. You just have to buy smart

I was looking at resale values the other day. Subaru is rated highest at 39% after 5 years. I'm riding about 50%purchase after 5 years. But got the CSS at 18,250 with 88 mi on it. So my case is rare.

Yeah and the fox body was complete ****. Ford was even considering dropping the Mustang line after the 1993 model year because its sales were so low. There's is an article on it in Wards Auto this month . It went from 72,000 sales in 1993 to 175,000 sales in 1995 (1994 was the model year the complete redesign came out).

The problem with this is it's a fine line. If nobody buys new anymore, used car prices will skyrocket because there are no used cars to buy. If everyone buys new, in 5 years the used car market will be so cheap because there are so many cars for sale.

THat is a good price. I paid 21 out the door for a brand new CSS. I only have 37k miles on it now, and stored in winter, so I think its worth like $16k maybe? Not a bad deal.

At the time sure, but they had the super coupe as well

Everyone wants fox bodies now for racing...so there I wouldn't doubt most car sales in that year were down anyway, ugly ass year/decade for all cars.

With the flexibility of platforms today (the exception being NCAP and IIHS) I don't see why GM cant make a Hot coupe for the USA and a Hot hatch for the EU / UK BOTH from the same platform. The only difference would be how they are tailored for the specific continent.

Your exactly right!!! It has the HI-PO front struts that helps eliminate torque steer, but as far as handling, braking, or anything performance oriented, it's just not there - intentionally. BUT then again look at what it's being badged as, Buick - that pretty much says it all.

You don't see why not and everybody else does and I agree, but I've seen internal discussions about this and it comes down to "hatches for the US and NA are the bottom of the pile for revenue and profit."

i think they should have done a little bit of engineering and made a cruze version that was basically a follow up to the cobalt or at least a st fighter.

The verano premium only competes with the CSS in engine and fwd

The regal gs is the engine, brembo's hiper strut etc.

Verano Pre at $29k and the GS is $29-35k. They are well over the price of the MSRP of the CSS @ $26k.

Anyone who pays 40 grand for that Regal GS is a moron. Used market FTW with those cars.

Being the new car manager at a Buick dealership, I have NEVER seen anybody ever pay MSRP for a vehicle ever...40 grand is the MSRP...not even close to the selling price not including dealer discount, GM rebates...

its because the us is retarded and has a completely different set of safety standards and doesn't recognize those used by the rest of the world even tho in most cases they are superior. that's why we don't get so many cars from overseas.
