Wow good progress ZZP!

Holy **** though... Polymer trans mount? That thing seems like it would shatter or at least tear in a frontal collision.

Seems like there are many bottlenecks in the intake and exhaust. Hopefully lots of good gains to be had. I'm dropping my SS/SC to buy a Mercedes C300 4MATIC or I'd be real interested in these mods.

2" diameter tubing would be enough, but I don't feel that 2.25 is going to hurt anything. It is thick wall, so the ID is 2.08". It will be big enough to use with turbo swaps as well.

We will make more exhaust components as well.

The IC is only 1-3/16" thick. It's tall, but very thin, sanwiched between the condensor and radiator.

Considering that it comes from the factory lacking power, I would say that modding it is a good idea. Gains are where they should be so far. We experimented a little and hit 153whp already. Once we have a few bolt-ons and a tune, it should be over 180 at the wheels. My Corvette came from the factory making a lot less than that.

I didn't own it until '96, but it was a base model 350ci motor rated at 175hp at the flywheel. Through an old school automatic and IRS, I bet it was good for about 130 at the wheels.

Yes, our FMIC will actually be front mount. There's plenty of room.

looking good ZZP

at the beginning i was guessing 200whp with complete bolt-ons and a sweet tune, looks like that is a possibility depending on the tuning. good luck guys.

vince has gotten some great gains on just a tune.. and he said it falls off at the top .. however the turbo isn't falling off up top so it could just need flow mods..

do i think flow mods are going to get 40 whp+ whp to hit 200 whp probably not .. but 180-190 should be possible definitely

It's not as bad as it looks. Turbo 1.4s don't need much for TB size. If it does prove to be a restriction, there will most likely be a larger TB available to replace it with. I'd expect the 1.8 TB to be larger.

Matt M........... so what are ZZP's thoughts for a turbo swap? in other words, what size turbo do you think you guys would use?

ok so just throwing this out there for a final number with full turbo back exhaust, intake, IC & piping, and a really good tune..... 185whp/210wtq..... that would be a spunky little bastard that would be enough to LOL at some eBay turbo Civics.

Something like a stock LNF turbo would be nice. For more power than that, I would compound. Something in the 54-60mm range should work well.

what kind of numbers you think you could put down with the ss/tc turbo ? think 250 whp or so would be a possibility
