AjSS Build Thread
Wow, well its been a while since I updated this thread, lol, almost 2 years in fact o_O. I have been busy with life though, moved up a ton in my career, working toward my CCNA now, bought a house, got engaged, ect... I have not had the time or money to do much to the Cobalt. In fact, last year I bought a daily so that I didnt have to drive the Cobalt to work and put a ton of miles on it (and Im glad I did, because I put almost 20k miles on the daily in a single year
). I bought an 02 WRX for my daily, and yes, I get a lot of trouble from people for having a "daily" WRX and a "project" Cobalt... lol.
Anyway, to kind of catch up on the car, a few things have changed...
Previously I was wanting to see what I could get out of the TVS before going turbo, then I had an opportunity to sell the TVS, and had to jump on it. I sold the TVS and LS4 TB to a local 2.4 SS guy (Verbatim on this forum - https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-4l...-build-280597/) toward the end of 2011, and with the help from that money I purchased my GTX3076, Tial .82 A/R Stainless Turbine housing, Tial Q BOV, Tial MV-S wastegate, Precision 600HP intercooler, TTR Intake Manifold, and a few other goodies. Over the next year or so a lot happened but I managed to pick up two Stainless Works mufflers to replace my exhaust with, since WOT shifting destroys muffler packing and makes the car sound like crap. Those have sat around until now.
Since the weather has gotten nice, and I now have a 3-car garage to work in at my house instead of a packed 2-car with no room at my parents, I have gotten the itch to start playing with the car again
. I got a great deal on some Stance coilovers from TH Motorsports, and now I'm finally happy with the way the car looks (pics soon enough, no photo shoot yet).
I then purchased a 2.2 alternator and tensioner, and am now talking with a local shop that a few buddies work for/own to see when they can get the exhaust fixed up. If your local, check them out, they are good guys for anything from general maintenance or bolt ons, to advanced fabrication and obscure swaps: Rush Garage. I will then work on getting a turbo manifold and all the charge piping done, and be well on my way to being turbo finally. I will be converting to E85 on the 1000cc injectors and want to see what I can get out of this thing.
To sum it up, im really working toward getting this thing turbo by mid-July if possible, but its going to be a rough ride to do so... Wish me luck!
I'll try and keep this updated, mainly so I remember what I have done though, lol. On to a few pics:

No pics of the WRX as its just stock looking with a muffler, lol. I put full exhaust (UP, DP, Catback) and did an opensource tune on it. Nothing major, but makes it a fun daily.
