Doesn't seem to have made a difference yet changing the way it faces. Maybe these questions will help me out.

Does your surge tank coolant heat up? Like my radiator surge tank actually gets hot as the engine heats up. This tank stays cold no matter now how hot the coolant gets in the rest of the system.

My temps go up when I let off the gas even while moving at a fair speed. They go down mainly when I hit the gas, which I think is outside air cooling as it enters. Is this maybe a sign it isn't working or it is normal for them to only go down with the gas pressed while moving.

I got the coolant heated up today and going down a hill without throttle the AIT2 was going up to 130. When I hit the gas it dropped right back to the 80's-90's, but seems odd to heat up to 130 that quick unless it isn't the coolant, but intake air actually cooling it.

It sounds like the Coolant isn't flowing in the 1st part of the Question, Your reservoir should be warm once the car has warmed up but not overly hot!
If thats is the case your pump is gone!
2nd what are the outside temps Compared, If outside temps are cold & you are running them kinda temps something is clogged or you pump isn't running! You'r pump should turn on as soon as the Key does!
Question when your car is running can you see fluid running thru the Reservoir? This would also tell you if the pump is running >>> Because fluid always flows thru the resevoir Thats how it bleeds itself. If it is not running fluid constant there is a problem with the system being Clogged or IC pump is done!

The surge tank is flat out cold always. Yeah, it is 60 or less outside.

Yeah, I definatly can't see fluid running. I was just trying to figure out how temps could stay relatively cool while it wasn't working at all. It is wierd. I don't know why filling the surge tank all the way is actually making it get cooler if the pump isn't running at all. That has been what is confusing me most trying to understand what is happening there. I mean why that is helping for some odd reason. Like, half full my AIT2 was hitting 160 a while back and not dropping period. Some odd reason and it actually goes below 100 now with the throttle down. Assuming that is just air cooling it, why not work half full? See why that confuses me so much.

I assumed that had something to do with the bleed line for that reason since, the fluid is up to that line when it changes and works partially. There again it confuses me. Why would that happen? I'm totally lost.

If it isn't flowing, how full it is shouldn't matter. Fluid does bubble up when it turns off. I have no freakin clue there either as to why it would only come up when it is turned off.

I'll see about specifically checking the pump, but any idea on the above statement? I just wish I could understand why what happens is happening for learning sake.

Don't have time to read everything,, hafta leave for work in 5min, So I don't know if this has been said already or not

But check your bleeder fitting adaptor. The threads on mine wee too long, so if I tightened it all the way the inlet on the thread side actually made contact with the fins inside the HE,,, I had to use a saw to cut about 1/4" or more of threads off so it wouldn't bottom out.

To test if thats your problem, back it out a few turns and see if coolant starts flowing through to the reservoir. If you're blocked there you won't be able to bleed the air out and will have problems.

Hope that helps
