The Motor is IN!!!!!!

Just have to attach all hoses and electrical thingys

im pullin an all nighter

I will say this now putting an engine in the cobalt by yourself is a true bitch

Mounting the tranny back to the block and aligning the slave cylander into the pressure plate is a joke and that tranny weights a good 250 so holding it wasnt fun

I reccomend anyone that does this have at least 3 individuals to help with reinstall dont do it solo like i just did

I dropped the tranny on my foot in the process

Haha yea I already smoke trying to quit but I have some help. my gf's uncle and two cousins build race cars in Illinois and they are going to help me out. Her cousin has a lift in his pole barn at his house so I have access to everything I need. They said they would even hone the cylinders and everything for me. So Im pretty excited I wont have to do this by myself in my garage!

You have put a ton of time effort and money into this project. We at CPP are waiting for you to fire that thing up and show some decent numbers. Hopefully scare the **** out of a few people when you blow by them.

Dude that tranny weighs like 75lbs. Lol. Lining it up ain't no thing. Why is it that everyone just decided to build the **** out of their LSJs in the past month? I thought I was going alone on that one right now.

Blown ring lands tend to inspire people to upgrade internals.

I just thought of this, while you had it out you should have swapped to the Neutral balance shafts. I heard that with the stock balance shafts the crank can't handle much more than 370 at the crank. A Red Line guy already snapped his crank at 7800rpm because he didn't swap the balance shafts. He dynoed 425 at the wheels but admits the dyno wasn't accurate.

That RedLine guy also beats the snot out of his car on a daily basis. Who is to say he didn't damage the crank prior to that build from detonation or something like him revving to 7800 rpm and this extra power added to it and broke the bitch. GM says the crank is good to like 550. I'd stick with that estimate.
