Get a white board next time.
Get a digital camera next time.
Take pictures of every part of the engine. Every Connection and hose.
Put in order the steps you have to do to make it run..
Ie.
Clean Head and Block Surfaces
Install Head Studs
Place Head Gasket (Correct Face Up)
Initial Torque Head in Outward Pattern to 20 Ft/Lb
Install Head to 80 Ft/Lb In Outward Patten
Time Motor so that crank is TDC Intake Cam sits 90 Deg Ex Cam Sits 270 Deg
Tension Chain and rotate assembly (Crank) by hand Clockwise (Twice) to check timing.
Etc.. Etc..
You wasted so much time and money by being sloppy... If you worked in a garage and did this, you would be fired and blacklisted in your city.

I would have a digital camera but it was stolen, I took a decent amount of pictures on my phone. I have honestly taken a great deal of time to double check things.
I am really not on a deadline yes I want it done but I can survive without it

Yer Kidding... Right?
Something this big should not be done like this..
One hour of planning will prevent thousands of dollars and hours and hours of wasted time.
It's not negative... At least it wasn't meant to be.. It was meant to be a suggestion for the next person who does this type of swap the first time..

That's ok. I added you to my Buddy list to counter your negative CHI..
lol come on share the love
Im going to do a write up and trust me planning is involved
I made alot of screw ups, but from me being a noob i can help another noob alot better that say a person with your knowlege you might underlook a simple thing that a new person to this might not understand, Brian i do however greatly respect your knowlege as I know you are highly intellegent with cars and engines.
Just look at it this way better me who could afford it then someone who couldnt
Yes Im broke now but in my honest opinion all my screw ups were worth it for the amount of knowlege of cars, and flat out this motor.
It has also led me onto some vary good things tha could be done to this car
Such as an air to air cooling system, not good for the supercharger but i think it will benifit greatly on a twin charge yes you will loose alot of power on the supercharger but honestly it wont be needed for it when you have a large turbo, it is only going to be meant to stop some of that lag

^^^ Just so you know, I am serious about not intending to flame your thread..
I think it's awesome that you are doing it yourself rather than just getting some dude to do it for you. That to me is massive. So Congrats...

I know that, I might have been one of the few to not look at it that way,
People have different ways of expressing themself, I didnt take your post as a flame, but my reply was me pretty much toasted last night.
Brian, usually I stick up for your opinions, but here I think it is sort of uncalled for here. Obviously BD has lost a lot of sleep, spent a few extra bills, and made a couple mistakes. I think we have all been at that point once before. I know that by doing 2 clutch jobs on this car, and a headgasket replacement I have learned a significant amount about this it. I agree with the fact about being organized, as some would say I border on having OCD. This task that he took on is a truely an admirable one which will be successfully accomplished here in a little bit. The knowledge gained and self satisfaction when the car is running and tuned properly will be enough reward to satisfy BD. I'm sure you remember that feeling when you finished you Mazda and Porsche builds, as I did when I got my car running again. I think the negative vibe around here lately is more detrimental to this site than anything. I'm not trying to argue on here, but at this point I think we should all just be supportive and help him out as much as possible to finish the job.
BD, any word when you HPTuners cable will be returning to you? We're all anxious for you to get the beast fired up and breathing life again.

Stepper motor usually does not have a self closing spring..
It would work like an electronic boost or Electronic EGT..

So you are basically saying that
He should not have taken it off the car.
