I got it open and fixed a gear inside the TB
Also my no spark issue has been fixed, only to learn that my timing is off, compression test showed 30 across the boards
Im taking tonight off as work was pretty rough, ill be in the garage about 8 am and should have it done by early evening
I am just wondering if i can do a timing job with the motor i the car, or if im going to have to pull it again, any input on this is welcome
And to the flamers stay out of my thread if you dont have anything to say postive and dont ever dare ask me a question about anything as one of you has already done.
I am a very nice person but am not going to be flamed and them act buddie buddie with you in a pm or on AIM

You can time the engine with the motor in the car still. Use that link I sent you about the cam sensor, and the timing should also be in there. If not in that link, use the GM build book. In one of the sections it gives a great write up. It took two people to get the timing right. I had to have my buddy use two wrenches, one on each cam, and they had to be turned inward slightly toward each other to get the cams in the right place. I then double checked to make sure I was at TDC where I left it when I took the head off. Then I attached on cam gear and placed the chain on top of it. I then took the other cam gear and slid it into the chain and onto the cam using the bolt to line it up. It took a couple times to get it right as we were a tooth off the first couple times.
Since you do not have marks, this may be a little more difficult. You'll have to use the build books methods with the chain marks which will require so many rotations to get the chain where it needs to be to do the job.

If the engine is an interference motor (IE Valves Can Touch Pistons) you probably need new valves if the motor was far out of timing..
The timing makes sure that the valves close as the piston arrives at TDC.
The Porsche that I have is an interference motor. If the timing belt goes, so does the entire motor..

Damn, I wish I could help you out more than providing internet info. If I could go to your house and give you a hand, I think we could have her up and running in about a hour or two max. I'm really anxious to see the project get rolling finally here.

The timing is off by one tooth, o if it is interferance which i belive it is im not worried, i have spun it around plenty of times nothing hitting, the blue chain links at to the left of the notch and not right on top of them, I still havent started, just woke up was really tired and now about to go see james bond
