what makes you think your ecu is fried? you must have some proof those things are'nt cheap. sorry but this is the mindset of a tech, cause i cant just go spending the money of my customers without proper diagnoses.

Yeah that sucks, and make sure the connector is good enough to be used again or you will have to replace that too.

pray to sweet jesus that the connector is ok becuase to get or much less replace that concector housing is a royal pain in the ass. your eyes are going to hurt for a week if you have to r&r those terminals. trust me i just did it to the bcm on a malibu ss tuesday. and of course, it was warranty and paid exactly .9 hrs and took atleast 2hrs i love flat rate warranty b.s.!!

Exactly how much of your engine did you put together? From the looks of this thread, everything you have done, you have done wrong.

I am not trying to be rude or anything, but if you don't know how to install an engine, you probably shouldn't do it. With all the money you have spent replacing parts that you don't even know are broken or not, you could have had a mechanic do the work for you and your car would be on the road and working right now.

My worry is that all the money you spent on internals could go out with a bang when and if this car ever fires up. The little problems your having now aren't critical. But if you "forgot" to tighten a head bolt, or a crank bolt like you forgot to tighten a spark plug, your going to have a serious problem on your hands and your going to be back where you started. I hope none of this happens, but I would have the ENTIRE car checked over by a licenced mechanic before you try turning it over again.

Yes you really really do not want to have to do this. This sucks more than anything. Had to do it on a Lincoln were I work.

i dont know you so i wont question your abilities in any way. but i rly dont think you could have fried your pcm by touchin the case with pos. cable via wrench. because everything leading into it that is b+ is on a fuse as well as the pcm itself. now whatever individual wire is burnt i would check that system for a short. just beacuse that wire is torched does not mean the pcm is aswell i know you had a bet going for how much horsepower your going to make. but i will make a bet with you, that just a pcm will not fix your issue. as long as all the info you provided was correct to the best of your knowledge, however bleak that may be. not trying to be an ass but i do this **** every day and i have yet to hear of this. what was the wager 5$? take it or leave it

don't be so hard on this guy, he's probably put alot of time and effort into this project. And i gurantee when the car starts up and runs like a bat out of hell he'll feel great that he did it himself.

Man, that PCM frying sucks! After sparking on the starter, now I make sure all wrenches are clear of the engine compartment before I even connect the battery. Hopefully she'll fire up now without a hitch after you get the new PCM. You'll probably have to perform a new CASE learn on it first though.

BooSSted, man why are you being so negative here? The engine is mechanical, and it's not that hard to figure out especially if you have a guide to follow like we do. Take it apart, and put it back together in the reverse order. The electrical system on a car is a little more difficult, and trying to trace out a single problem is not as easy. I personally think bdwarr06 is doing a great job. He has just run into a few snags as many engine builders do with the electrical systems. Hell, he's got it all done up to this point, so I would say he has to be quite competent and probably quite tired by now. I think we are all trying to help a fellow member out here, so lets be postive and support him.

I will be the first to say that I hope this car starts after a new PCM. Keep us posted.
