none the less as ive seen on the forums you cant just drill and tap the holes either for the exsisting oil cooler. if you did that there wouldnt be any pressure. gm has a sleeve in there ive had to machine before to make the non oil cooled block adapt for a oil cooler.
LDK is the Gen 3 block. The 2.4 block just doesn't have an oil cooler.

The only thing ZZP changes to make the LDK work with the LSJ is they modify the reluctor wheel.

Interesting. 2.0 block create a 2.0 with lsj crank?

The entire set up is a 2.0 LDK engine. ZZP just takes the crank out and modifies the reluctor wheel so it will work with the LSJ. The motor is a direct drop in for an SS/TC. That pic I posted of the oil cooler ZZP sent with the motor. It was a direct bolt on. I just had to run a custom length coolant hose because as you can see in the pic one fitting on the cooler faces the wrong way.

Yes they are. When I first talked to zzp about this motor they told me the pistons were swapped. I got the motor and was like wtf. Well I guess they thought I was talking about their forged Gen 3 motor for some reason. You can run DI pistons in an lsj it just isn't as optimum. At the time back in October they had already done over 20 of these motor swaps without issue. Going from the lsj to the Gen 3 with DI pistons they said it made no difference in the tune. I'm still just breaking in my motor but so far so good.

Well I really didn't want to tear a motor that was just apart back apart again. Second was money. I went through 3 motors in a year. Had some bad luck. And the Gen 3 motor in it's stock form is good for over 500whp. If I want more than that I'm going to buy something with 4 more cylinders. Granted a forged piston is stronger and less likely to fail, this motor should be able to take what I'm going to throw at it with ease.

I've only been ripping around on it with low boost. I'm itching to turn the dial and see what this S252ET can do. But so far no complaints with it at all.

I agree, I don't think an oil cooler is really needed unless it's a track car

I don't think he has an opinion change. hes just saying if theres no ports for an oil cooler its not worth the hassle to add one. the lnf/ldk runs warm so I recommend them just for the hell of it but its not 100% neccisary. I track my car so its definitely getting an air to air setup with aux fan whenever the motor decides to let loose.
