Rear mounted coolant resevior

Has anyone attempted installing an extra coolant tank in the trunk or in the rear of the vehicle somewhere? I've already done option B dual pass, but if I can make it even cooler I will. I'm just trying to keep daily driving temps down. Who knows what our stock aftercooler pump gph is? I'm thinking of upgradeing the pump to reduce heat soak.

One of these would probably work out nicely http://http://www.cantonracingproduc...ank.html#80233

If you are thinking about an extra reservoir I would keep it under the hood. Since our intercooler system is a closed loop system it would be very hard for that pump to move the fluid all the way from the front to back like you are thinking.

Not to mention you have already slowed the flow rate by using the dual pass.would have done more by just replacing the pump with a higher gph pump

The extra weight wouldn't be an effective tradeoff.

Also you'd have to get a electric water pump to push the water since the stock pump is just good enough for the stock job.

^^^ I guess I forgot about that whole weight thing...so scratch that idea then.
Has anyone upgraded their pump to increase efficiency? Anyone know where to find one that is not ridiculously priced?

There is no replacement pump.

If you want a larger pump your gonna have go to custom electric water pump setup which is neither cheap nor simple to set-up.

What would make it complicated? I'm not doubting, I've just never set one up.

If youre worried about heat soak, you already know the real problem, you dont have a large enough amount of heat trasfer, more area = more heat transfer. You need a larger heat exchanger.

Extra tanks, extra fluid, bigger pump, if they work they all do the same thing, DELAY the onset of heatsoak. None of them actually increasing your cooling capacity which is what you need to do.

Well I have two heat exchangers, so I may upgrade the pump. Delay is better than nothing...
