If I flip the turbo I think the compressor will hit the trans mount.. plus if I am having trouble fitting a 3" I will have issue with a 4" inlet. Also I wont be able to get the charge pipe through the top the header is in the way. Or am I not seeing something you are?

damn. Too many problems. I figured you could just run a "slinky" intake and get a 90 degree elbow off the compressor outlet for your charge piping. But if it won't fit underneath the manifold, then it won't fit.

You know what, thinking about it now, I'm glad I went with the zzp log style manifold. Should keep me from having too many issues like this.

Best of luck to ya man. I hope ya figure it out.

sub'd. usually the heat shield has to come off from the trans mount. gives it a little more room. either way its a super tight fit

He tried a variation of different things. Removed the heat sheild and may have modified the mount a little.

I am just hoping the 1.06 a/r housing has the 3" opening and doesnt flare.

Garrett GT3076R (GT3037) Dual Ball Bearing Turbo Customizable

Check out the bottom set of pictures third from the right. That is the housing I need! I wonder what the 1.06 looks like. I see it comes in the .82 but I dont know if that will spool too quickly...

Edit:

Looking at my options on garretts website I can get these housings of 1.06 a/r. All the options have three types.

740902-1
740902-7
740902-13

I dont know if one of these will have the non-flared housing or not but I would think it would.

Update:

I had to go through another Garrett dealer to get the T31 housing. That is the housing custom made with no flare. That should allow my exhaust to fit. I ordered it, only could get it in the .82 A/R but least it will fit now. If it spools too quickly with that housing I will just get a 3.5" blower pulley. I will keep you updated as things unfold. Updated OP.

Ryan @ ZZP used a .70a/r on his twincharged setup. I'm using the same thing on mine. I think your .82a/r will be fine.

Ok cool. I am glad that the hosuing issue is resolved. I was kind of worried because the dealer that I bought the turbo from originally said Garrett doesnt make it.. I was like COME ON! haha Then they told me another dealer that does make them custom. Worked out!

Going to pick my exhaust housing up in a little and drop it off at the exhaust shop. I will keep you posted with some pictures of how the new housing fits. I think that my exhaust guy will have an easier time getting it to fit from pictures I have seen of similar housings.

Well I picked up the housing and got it to the exhaust guy. Here it is not bolted up and bolted up. We have about 1" to 1-1/2" more clearance. The exhaust guy can work on it now.

It would have taken more time to put the housing on the turbo, I had to go back to work right away. So I just pulled the turbo put the housing on, and left to let him do his magic. haha

Alright, had a couple more snags with some parts that I thought I bought from a member but they didnt come with the kit. So I am picking up the water banjos, oil feed to the turbo, and new exhaust flange gasket after work then going to get the turbo fixed up!

Alright, after a rough weekend of back and fourth for bolts and different issues that I had I am almost finished.

I got all the charge pipes cut and cleaned, just have to wait on my welder to be avail. I will run couplers for now so I can get the car started.

I reinstalled the header with gaskets, installed the turbo (it was a pain since the hot side is larger it wouldnt fit from below with out taking the compressor housing off)

Installed oil lines and ran water lines. Only one that needs connect is the supply. Need to get correct size tee.

Cut pipe for intake, cleaned, and ready for install. Again going to use couplers until my welder is avail.

I have the BOV, wastegate w/ dump tube, and vacuum lines to go. The BOV flange is getting welded today so that is what I am waiting for.

Other than that I have to put the car back together and start her up. Pics will be updated soon.
