dont be a pus. I rock 12k 55w lows. 40% light output difference is 40% light output difference. Your buying HID's for more light right? so get the most bang for your buck as long as you got a good cutoff. About your lenses, there gonna stress crack regardless. Its just the shitty ass design. Get 8k 55w, be a baller, and be done with it. Just hook them up to a relay and youll be FINE ignore the horror stories of people who half assed it. Wanna see a difference? here:

35w

55w

35w Top, 55w Bottom

If the 35's fail id consider upgrading to the 55's but honestly I have no issue at all with lightout currently. it far exceeds stock. Though 12k is way too up there for me. I like my 6k's (yes I know a 55w ballast would make my 6k's more like 5k's).

And I did the 35s because they were cheaper plus I didnt feel like running the relay harness and such

no HID is street legal in any state unless its an OEM housing for that model vehicle... for example if you buy a regular 3 series without HID's and put HID's in them, its illegal... but if you put the HID housing in they are legal...

in cali i think basically anything outside of the 3700-5300K range would get you pulled and given a ticket for improper equipment.

luckily in SC we dont even have visual inspections anymore lol...

My fogs are 8k, my lows are 12k 55w. so they equal out pretty well and the 12k makes for a colorful cutoff

At least the 4th gen projectors have the SAE/DOT on the lense so that should help talk your way out of some tickets.

nope...sorry not true. State of california law says that any light bulb over 50W is not street legal. Trust me, I was read this by a cop.
