I need some opinion's on witch to choose the 3rd gen lights compared to the oem painted black from HIDs Direct? Some feed back would be greatly appreciated as I'm a noob to the cobalt ss scene.

I was going to go with the Gen 3's or 4's but didn't want to have to worry about the issues with the lenses cracking.
So I got a pair of OEM lights that were painted. On the VR i think the oem painted looks better.

go oem,, i regret getting the g3,,, the light output is less, and the lense has many stress cracks,,, just stay oem,, try even to paint the headlights yourself, save yourself a few bucks..

theres a couple of guys on here right now selling theirs....... used they go for about 350-400 and new ones are more expensive, so make sure u know what ur getting into

The ONLY good projectors are the Gen 1s, and Gen 2's. Gen 3's and 4's looks hideous and make the car look cross eyed.

But the BEST headlights to get by far are retrofits. So get those.

 

you will have less problems with painted oem lights
