Adding SS/SC lips... paint blending required?

Simple enough question, I have an '07 2.4 and want to add the front and rear lips. My paint is blue granite metallic (pic here: http://bit.ly/idYp2B) I was just in an accident and had my driver's door replaced and they had to blend the paint into the quarter panels, but I'm wondering if this would be necessary for adding the front and rear lips, or can I just go get them painted and follow the how-to on here to install?

Thanks.

if your just getting the lips all you should need to do is get the lips painted to match the bumpers.
if your doors and all that look like the rest of the color of the car you'll be fine.

I wasn't sure. I got it repaired at a dealer and the guys there said they almost always blend for metallics. But when I go get the lips done it'll just be at a body shop so I figured I'd ask here first cause you guys always know the deal.

99.9% of the time if you want paint to "match" you MUST blend.. doesn't matter what color.

I put an ss boosted lip on the front of my car, its black and matched up just fine, apart from the paint not having as much road rash as my bumper.

it you want it to match 100% you need to blend but it wont look bad without blending just make sure you bring you can with you and stuff so they can match the paint best they can
most colors have a few variants to them

it also depends on how you see the paint too.. i've seen some match jobs that look horrendous to me.. but the customers are thrilled at how it turned out.

Metallic paints will need some blending if you want the metallic specks to look uniform. But that being said, having it painted separately won't really hurt anything. Most cars coming off the line have slightly mismatched paint since the body, fenders, hood, and bumpers are painted on separate lines.
