Yes it is true that all Chevy F-bodies have had "fake duals" meaning that they split after the muffler to give the second pipe. Oh and it is illegal in some states to have dual exhaust from the engine back if the car did not come that way from the factory, you MUST split it after the muffler in those states.

Anyway, the Mustangs, however, have "true dual" exhausts in that they have 2 pipes coming from the engine all the way back into 2 mufflers, however they use an h-pipe that connects the two sides to equalize the exhaust pressure.

Back on point. I like B. I like the fact that it looks like it came from the factory that way. I think C just looks like something is missing.

^^ What about the corvettes, cameros, and some trucks... Not really important either way. I'm think that I'm going to go with b. And if I don't like it, I'll go with c. And If I still don't like it, than I'm SOL.

Thanks for the visual!! I have been really wanting to do this!!

As far as the exhaust is concerned...I say option B for sure!! I love that look. I have been dying to do that. Any ideas on how to fabricate the bumper and make the new cut out match the original? I've seen aftermarket bumpers that have the dual cut outs but I don't wanna pay that much. I thought it would be an easy cut, but making it look finished may be another story. The rear bumper is hollow, and I don't know what/how I would use something to cover that.

I'm thinking that with the way the rear lip is, you should be able to take out the plastic mesh thing/ use the left one to cut what isn't necissary, then measure the diamiter of the oem hole and cut. like this. Marked by the red.

There will be slight differences in the "fineshed-ness," tho. Meaning that the left will look factory (because it is) and the right will look cut-out (because it is). However, I dont' think that anybody will notice the differance right of the bat. Just those that look super close.

Yeah, that's exactly what I had in mind. I mean measuring and cutting that half-circle would be pretty simple. I'm just worried about that lip and the top of the cut out being hollow (since the rear bumper is hollow) I think it may look tacky...I don't know but I really want to do it.

see if you can't get another ss/sc rear lip from someone on here. that way, you can work on the lip off of the car, paint it, then put it on the car. if it looks like ****, then you're only out a little bit of money and can replace the original lip!

That's a fantastic idea. does GM sell color-matched paint? I'm sure a dealer could match it pretty well huh? I've never had to have anything professionally painted before. I just don't want to spend $$$ just for the look, if it was a V-8 switchin from single to duals I'd do it in a heartbeat but this could get kind of pricy for just the look.

Come to think of it...I might just get lucky and find someone on here with a stock Victory Red SS/SC bumper...

^^^ I see your logic. But why buy a new lip when you aleady have one to cut? I understand that if you don"t like how it looks you're gonna want to go back to stock. But what if you do like it? Now you have a second useles lip. Sure you can sell it, but you won't be able to get all your money back. If you're really worried about how it'll look, then you have too much better options: 1) take your car to a reliable body shop and have them do it; or, 2) you can wait for me to do it. I almost always take lots of rediculously detailed pictures. I just don't always post because nobody show enough intrest or I lose them. It's really up to in the end.
