Armrest Opinion

I am going to be redoing my armrest possibly as soon as this weekend and need some opinions on the color scheme. I have already painted the top of the door panels black and at that time painted the armrests black as well. However I went the fabric store today and found some orangish fabric for cheap that I think will look good. I originally planned on painting the entire panel black and then wrapping the armrests with the fabric. However my buddy thinks that it will look good if i left the door panels the neutral color. Need some opinions. Here are some pics to help.

Pics are not as good as I had hoped. Its starting to get dark out and the camera wanted to bleach the color out of the fabric. I think I was able to get a decent shot of what it looks like for everyone. Its called Dark Rusty Gold and looks like a brown/gold/orange color.

i wish i had the patience to do my armrests but sadly i don't. the fabric looks nice but i dunno about putting that with the gray, might look too bright imo.

Yea thats what i was kinda worried about and i am going with a black and orange theme but i dont want to over do it. If i get around to it this weekend I will post pics of the orange fabric covered armrest in the panel but not secured to get a better idea. But for now keep the opinions flowing. Maybe someone could photoshop it as well

Well its not pretty but i got an old copy of photoshop to work here are the different options

the black panel with the orange insert is nice

there's just something with the gray and orange that just seems off however it is your car, you're the one that has to drive it so whatever you think is best go with it

Yea I like the darker look better. When i did the photoshop tho I couldnt get the parts that I have already painted to match with the rest of the door however the more i look at it i kind of like the dark grey and black mix and think it would look good if i extended it to under the dash

Local fabric store Jo-Ann Fabrics. It was like 40% off so it came to like $2.79 for a yard of it which is plenty to do both.

I think the orange looks better on an all black panel but that an all black panel is too much. If you could somehow replace the center inserts in the seat like Mikey suggested then it'd look great on the grey, if it's even possible to do that.

i was gonna mention that before about the darker gray. it would look great if you can find a gray that dark. it breaks everything up a bit so it's not just a big black door with a chunk of orange in it, yanno?
