Angry bad experience Mr clean auto dry system

OK so I am vary pissed with MR cleans auto wash system. Yesterday I used it and it cleaned and dried as normal. I did see that there was some spots that looked like road / tar. So I spend a good part of the day using Meguiar's scratch x to clean it off. The problem started today when I wanted to give my car a quick wash and rinse to get the dust off. I stopped and noticed that it was starting to take off the wax. I was not sure so I continued with the process and sure enough it messed up the waxing that I did the day before. It did dry fine but know I am left with a re waxing job because the wax beaded up in clusters. Looks like splattered road tar. I am so pissed that I am going to get my money back and try and get some more because of all the time wasted waxing and then having to re wax.

I will follow up with pictures soon. But for know I recommend that no one buys the Mr. Clean auto wash system. *EDIT* with Meguiar's scratch x

I have it and love it, have never had a problem with it. Are you sure the filter wasn't bad or was this the first time you've used it?

Man, are those surface scratches? If so it need to be buffed out before re waxing otherwise you will continue to have that problem. I'd use 3M products Pefect-It III, Finesse-It, and Dark car Polish. In that order

Its the wax. It might seem that Meguiar's scratch fix gets broken up by the soap from the Mr clean's soap. I have had it for a little while and also had no problems with it until know. The Meguiar's scratch fix is good stuff ( car looked and shinned great yesterday) and the filter in the Mr clean is brand new so is the soap. Still the same I will have to buff out the wax deposits and try to get it to shine again. I am still going to talk with Mr clean when I get a chance because it should not harm any wax.

True. I have one of those too but I just thought since I had just used a wheel cleaner and got a little over spray I would give it a quick rinse. Since it auto drys I did not think too much of it. But I was dead wrong.

I just fix the mess it made. I had to use a bug and tar remover to remove all of the wax mess. I then used an M3 wax. Looks good know but I am worn out and I still need to clean and re wax the top of the cab.

I think that Meguiar's scratch x is really to soft of a wax and breaks up really easy.

DITTO. I was so pissed to see swirl marks all over once I finally got a good car wash in this winter. It HAS to have been that duster. Now I'll have to spend a good deal of time Scratch-Xing it out.

I think that duster works great on VERY light dust only. **** me off...

never had luck with the mr. clean system on a blck car although it did rather nicely on a white car. I would also stray away from using the california duster on a balck car....nothing like grinding fine dust particles in your paint to cause swirl marks. surface scratches

You do realize that any scratch remover product will take the wax off also. You might have to TOUCH the car to get all the scratch remover off then go at it the the mister clean again....

mr. clean is almost fool proof, and yes, the california car duster leaves tons of scratches, why? because you are rubbing dust over your car

the mini one for inside is dope tho..

I've never had scratches from the California Car Duster either.

I think the people that do have an extremely dusty car and then use that on it, I would believe that would scratch. However, all my cars have always been garaged, and I only use it when I'm sure its just a bit dusty. I've probably gone through 5-6 over the years.

my car usually has a light dust , pollen layer on it in the mornings since it has to stay outside, , i just use a soft buffing cloth to go over it in the mornings, wipes off like nothing, are you guys saying that could hurt the paint with sworl marks? I sure hope not.

rubbing anything across the surface will make micro scratches. I would not recommend doing that. Just leave it and then on the week end clean with water and a good car soap. also use a soft rag. Also A really good wax gob will prevent some of the scratches going down to the paint.

a few things you need to remember about the mr. clean system.... without the filter it is useless.. if you have very hard water the filter wears out 300 times faster than normal water... if you do not absolutely cover your car in the filtered water then spots will show.... The first time I used it I didn't get the desired result then I read the instructions and man that did wonders lol

Also with any car NEVER EVER WIPE A DRY SURFACE... have you ever seen a dust particle in a microscope they look like shards of broken glass.. always put water on your car first even if it is just a mist. If you are going to dust off a car that car must have a coat of wax on it to protect that little film called clear coat..... also always wash your car from top to bottom this is the most efficient method...

todays lesson has concluded... next weeks lesson how to get girls in your car instead of making them run from it !
