best replacement bulbs
hey i got an 06 ss s/c whats the best replacement bulb out there... im lookin for some wicked blue or purple or whatever... im doing my research on HID kits and suff, but im pritty new to everything about modding cars so everything is a learning process for me. i dont care about the brightness i really am just going after the look. pics are always good, thanks for your time everyone
IMO I would stay away from lumincs, I had them before and they are the shittest bulbs ever. You cant see the road, I did love the blue lights, I did have them on high beams all the time and my factory low beams are +5X brighter, finally after about 2 weeks(I never had time the switch back to stock lights) One of them burnt out, I put my stock ones back in.....WOW....I can see the road again. Just shitty looking white-yellowish lights....I ordered a set of 8000k HIDs and should have them sometime this week, maybe even today, so I will update everyone with how well they work. Go to youtube.com and search for some videos of peoples HIDs. They are pretty sweet, ebay sells them for cheap and I think their are a few supporting vendors that sell them for pretty cheap.
Thanks for your 2 cents - I appreciate it. Just spoke to 4 performance shops and all the manufacturers they deal with that have luminics have stopped supplying them with those bulbs. Bummer. I really like the look of the blue, and thought it only stole a little light. I drive down a long pitch-black road at night so maybe blue isn't such a good idea afterall

The bluer the bulb, the less light output, it even works that way with HIDs
I am kinda worried about ordering the 8000k but I was told that they will still be about 2-3X brighter than my stock lights. So I guess I will see when they come in.....
Becareful with high wattage bulbs though, My brother had something like that in his 03 cavy and after a month, it burnt his headlight wiring and melted his headlight housing..... HIDs are 35w and run at cool temps.....
Not saying that this will happen to you but It might cost more in the long run having to replace the headlight housings and wiring, not to mention, higher wattage bulbs usally dont last that long.
Heres some good pics of HIDs, mine still didnt come today, hopefully tomorrow.....I will let you guys know how well they work.....

You cant see well with bulbs like that, because blueish light doesnt reflect as well as yellowish light, thats why HID's are 3x brighter
I had streetglow 4000k headights for a year on my balt without problems. And I live in the middle of nowhere
I bought Nokya arctic purples, and they're less blue than my silverstars were
I ran 120w bulbs in my balt for a year without any wire problems. I think the wiring is sufficient enough for it
