Black Chrome Powdercoat?

Ok, So i want to do something different with my stockers.. i have the polished 18's and i bought this paint: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...i_sku=99985032 its supposedly like a nite shades for chrome stuff and essentially makes it black chrome but then i read that they have black chrome in the form of powdercoating. im just curious if any of you have any experience with either of these two. either way, i want my wheels black chrome. the polished look just stands out too much with my theme. any opinions welcome. thanks!

We black chrome powder coat.

It is a 2 step process. First coat is a "polished/chrome" coat, followed by a 2nd/top coat of a "black chrome"

Interesting...

Black rims are sweet--no brake dust.

It is very reflective, not even close to a look.

Black chrome looks sick on the stock SS/TC wheels. I've messed around with using VHT on chrome stuff and it looks pretty good but I've never tried it on wheels and I've never tried the Duplicolor stuff. Here's some pics of blaSSt's wheels.

I'm pretty sure he got them powdercoated. But yeah, it'll look sweet on the SS/SC wheels, too. Be sure to post pics if you do it.

those were not powder coated You will not ever get a finish like that with powder coat unless you already have a polished or chrome surface under it. Most of the black Chromes are just a candy black or tinted clear. I have see about all the chrome powder coats out and around and they all suck once you put anything over the top of them, look good until clear or top coat.
Also the main problem with shooting powder coat over a polished surface of chrome is it has nothing to grab onto it will look really nice once done but will have a super high chance to chip and scratch off because there is no adhesion.
Good luck
Josh
