Checker Board Trunk...anyone done it? Pics?

So I was wanting to know if anyone ever did a checkered white and black trunk with the squares centered to the trunk. If so, how did it turn out? Good? Any pics? I'm wondering also if it would look good on a Vic Red SS.

I was gonna do this soon with duct tape over painters tape. It's the checkered duct tape. I have wrapped my broken lip with lol.

Alright I was gonna take some 1600 grit and sand on a white trunk, then tape off a measured checkered board, paint every other square GM black so that squares of the same color only touch corners. This would then be clear coated after about 4 coats of black on the designated checkers. Tail lights would be removed.

Sounds good to me. Don't forget to wet sand lightly to make that baby smooth. Do it!!!

This would work if your car is not white or black.

Idk dick. Thought I'd try something never tried before. Worst case would be I wouldn't like the look of it so Id sell it to a owner of a black or white car.
