All I can say is that our stock lowbeams suck. If someone were to produce a plug-n-play, bolt-in projector HID lamp assembly -- I'd prolly be onboard.

I'm not one to spend time or money for the "looks" of HIDs, my desires are purely functional. You just don't realize how weak our lowbeams are until you've spent several hours on I-16 through Georgia, at 3am. There is NOTHING out there to help with lighting. No other cars, no street lights, no buildings -- it's like twilight zone dark.

i know it's not the RIGHT picture to prove anything but at least u can see a little bit of wat i'm talking about till i can go take more pics tonite. The glare is only there if your directly infront and inline with the headlight, off to the side a little bit, below a little but, above a little bit......the glare tapers off hugely compared to most vehicles cars I see with HID's..........u want glare, try a 1996 GM 1500 Pickup truck with HID's, THOSE will blind ppl, i still have yet to have anyone flash their lights at me, that happened to me all the time in my last car but not the cobalt.

^^^^^^if the glare was rly bad u'd have the drivers side headlight glaring hardcore in that picture

First, that picture is extremely under exposed, and gives no idea of what the headlight actually looks like when looking at it. You used the flash to pick up what is behind the headlight.

Second, if it REALLY bothers you that much, those lines can be sanded down and polished back to smooth. It would take a lot of work to get it to look right. Check out this link for more info:

The headlights? The 2nd gen ones were good, but the cutoff on them is not nearly as good as the 1st gen ones.

Now I am going with a custom retrofit setup....so it will be that much better.

these are expensive but have a lifetime warranty and looks as if it does not have those vertical lines in the plastic cover. Oh, the headlights are backordered so no idea when i'll recieve them and if your iffy about ebay u can find their website
I dont remember ever paying that much for them when I bought them off Ebay like last spring I think. Seems a little expensive but I do like them. The LED's and the Halos burn out in no time but they are much nicer with bigger brighter LED's anyway. Just plan on changing them before too long. Alot of other people I heard have had the same problem with these headlights....

What do u mean "they are much nicer with bigger better LED's"?? are u saying that u remove the halos and install LEDS? On my stockers, i removed the clear housing and painted the insides, and even after two attempts at sealing them back up they still have leaks. I was hoping everytime a bulb, halo, led burns out that i can just pull out my lifetime warranty card.

I completely agree. Stock reflectors with HID's just cause a lot of glare, and honestly I think look bad. Using a proper projector makes a HUGE difference in less glare for oncoming drivers, a proper sharp cutoff, and looks damn sexy if you ask me.
