**** if u wanna go sleeper, replace all your ss badges with ls badges, and take off the body kit, put on aftermarket wheels. make it look like its just an ls, then smoke their asses!
(although this may take a lot of time)

I've got the bowtie, cobalt, and supercharged off the back and like much better. Going to remove the SS from the rear as well, the supercharged off the sides, and the bowtie from the front and leave the two holes until I find something decent to put there. I'm not fond of the front bowtie stickers to put on the emblem. All I'm leaving is the SS on the sides and see how I like that for a bit.
Definitely have to get a grill for the front opening but don't like those eBay grills.

How can you remove a badge and just move it to another place? Doesn't the adhesive come off when you pull it off the original spot? I wanna removed the COBALT next to the SS badge, then move the SS badge under the left tailight. It'll look like this: (use your imagination)

SS supercharged

instead of:

Cobalt SS supercharged

Great idea. It sounds good and I'd love to see the SS on the front. It seems the SS from the back would be too big for the grill but never know til you try it. If it's gonna be on front may as well have on back too tho, unless you're just using it on front to cover the screw holes.
I just want all of the badging off. I may leave the side SS badges but not sure yet. I just think it would look cleaner and more flowing w/out badging....they kind of pop out and are distracting to the looks to me, especially the gold bowties.

Sorry for the thread necro but I didn't want to start a new one for such a simple question. This was also the top result for "Cobalt SS debadging".

Anyways, I want to debadge my car. I started with those two small GM decals. I heated the decal with a blow-dryer and ran dental floss back and forth behind it to get it off. They came off easily and I removed the rest of the sticky compound with Goo Gone. However, there is a ring around where the badge used to be. Its not sticky substance, in fact its rough in texture. How do I get rid of this and blend it into the rest of the car?

Holy ancient thread bump!!

Did you try some wax? Sounds like you have some sort of contamination on the paint from gunk building up under the badge and not getting cleaned off on a regular basis.

I am in desperate need of a wax. Should I debadge everything and then have the car waxed? I HATE detailing cars so I wouldn't be doing it myself.

i pulled off that EXACT same GM thing, and there was literally no clear coat there. could be the same thing. its like they stuck it on before they clear coated the car.

What about the other badges like the bowtie, SS and Supercharged? I want to debadge everything and stick an SS on the grill.

Same thing just happened to me today. It's like a crust around it. I'm gonna have a friend buff it and wax it.

The front bowtie bolts on, so no real issue there. It also covers the bowtie shaped cutout of the grille bar, so it doesn't overlap any smooth painted surfaces like the others.

I'd suggest you remove everything you want to remove then have the paint corrected professionally since you don't want to bother with it. It may need a wet-sand and polish if it's really bad, or if the clear has failed completely you may never get it back right without a re-paint which would be overkill.
