difference

what is the difference btw a 55watt HID kit and a 35watt HID kit, is one brighter or is it just that one simply uses more power?

?????????no one knows

completely different light generation technique.

the wattage is just a measurement of the power draw of the bulb.
when comparing halogen watts to halogen watts, it will be a measure of brightness
but you cannot compare halogen watts to HID watts.

Halogen bulbs use typical filament style light generation.
HID bulbs use a high voltage arc between electrodes to ignite xenon gas which gives off an intense light.

the wattage of each, compared to eachother, doesnt necessarily have anything to do with which one will be brighter

same reason as different wattage halogens.

more wattage in the same type of lighting system should give more light.

what i was saying above though, is that you cant compare 55w halogen vs 35w HID
because the bulbs are so different in their function

it would be an assumption on my part, as i havent really researched it.
but logic suggests that higher wattage should produce more light.

though consider this....if 55 watt are better, and worth it, why are 90% of HID kits made in 35 watt?

*shrug*
