ok so i was trying to buy a set of ss lenses forever cause mine were ****, and came off a lt cobalt...
well everyone i talked to said there was no difference between the two, and i said the ss ones had a tint to em so...
just recently i bought a pair of lenses from a member on here and guess what big difference between the lenses!!!!! just thought id let ya'll kno

ss up top and lt on below.....the lt just looks so cheap compared to the ss lense

 

Those the ones I sold you? Really didn't notice any tint when I had them, but it's definitely there.

no theres nothing to do with SS and Lt.

I think 2008 and up had tinted lenses and 07down had those shittier lookin ones.

 

^^^ my lens looks kinda crappy but i got new ones. I just went and looked in the box where i have my stockers and they are nasty as **** compared to 08+.

 

I have an 07' SS/SC & my lenses are tinted.

 

it might be a ss thing pre 08, but all models 08+ prolly had em tinted
the lt ones i had were off an 07

well say what you all like but my parents 08Lt has tinted lenses and my freinds '05 SS doesnt so I dont know, plus I've heard this a number of times.

 

They changed the headlights on the balts in 07' slightly.

Maybe 05'-06' dont have tinted lenses, but 07's def have them.

 

well mines an 06 ss and it does not have tinted lenses, I was gonna swap mine with my parents and see if they noticed

 

I noticed no difference between my 2005 SS lenses and base model 2010 cleared signal Enterprise Cobalt's I traded mine with.

all 05-06 Cobalts (LS,SS, LT) have no tinted lenses and amber turn cover
all 07-08 (LT and LS) have no tinted lenses and amber turn cover
07 - 10 SS's have tinted lenses with no amber cover (amber blubs)
09+ LS and LT Not sure

The lenses are injection molded polycarbonate (or something similar). The tint is a colorant additive added to the raw material before molding the part. They are not tinted post operation.

 

Mine that i bought already painted have the tinted lenses. I noticed it when i had them apart.
They also have a GM build sticker on them from 10-06.
I don't know what model they were from.

 

I had no amber turn signal cover. Orange bulbs and I'm an 07 base g5.

 

I have an 06... and my lenses are tinted.

might just be those lenses cause both of my sets are tinted

 

The differences are noticed most at the edges where the plastic is viewed though a thicker point. See how mine appears to have a black outline?
