Does Anybody Have MP Housings?

If you do, do you have a HID bulbs in them? If so, did they originally fit or no?

MP only sells 1st Gen. But they come with Halogen bulbs in them. But when I bought HID's for it, they didn't fit so I had to drill a hole. I was wondering if I bought a new set, is there anyone out there that bought an HID kit that actually fit their housings.

ok thats what i was thinkin you meant but wasnt sure.

all the first gen lights has to have a hole drilled to make the hid bulbs fit. all the after market projectors say not to put hids in them so thats why it the spot you had to drill the hole isnt there on the first gens. im not sure of the reason they say not to use hids in them but they do.

mike beat me to it but he's right

so where did you drill the hole?
top or bottom.

ALL of the gen 1's need drilling you might just not have the bulb in there right.
there should be a slot ALL the way through the bulb seat for the return lead(small blue wire on outside of bulb)

if you do not drill the slot the bulbs are in cockeyed.

my question is, what produces the best light output, top or bottom drilling?

a trick for not getting shavings in the housing is put vasaline on the drill bit. the shavings will stick to the bit instead of falling in. just dont put to much on or drill to fast because it can sling off inside and then you would have a mess lol

its the same way you tap an oil pan for a turbo/supercharger return line without removing it.
